WM8500HVA | LG 29 5.0 cu. ft. Front Load Washer - Graphite Steel

The LG WM8500HVA is a spectacular washing machine - an achievement in technology. I replaced a Bosch front load washer and was very pleasantly surprised at the differences. Our laundry room is on the 2nd floor - noise and vibration had always been an issue with the old machine. The special vibration-absorbing feet purchased for the old machine are no longer needed. You cannot hear this machine operating even in the room directly below it. We are on a septic system, so water efficiency is a high priority that this machine meets. The clothes come out extremely dry from the high speed spin cycle, making drying cycle times very short. Permanent press, towels, and whites all come out in very nice condition. Bear in mind that shipment will take longer than other Amazon products, but it's worth the wait.

This is my first LG washer and I will never buy one again. Do NOT buy this washer it is not worth the high price tag. I did tons of research and read tons of reviews. We have had this washer 7 months and it destroys clothes! I find holes in our clothes and the wrinkles it creates you can NOT get out, even with an iron. It even ruined the sheets to the bed. Again I did tons of research and switch all the settings. I wash everything on Low spin speed, I do not overload the washer, I use HE detergent and fabric softener. I use laundry bags for delicate clothes. I called LG they phone tech took me through several steps could not find a problem. The phone tech then sent out a repair man. He checked the washer and basically said it was working as designed. He called into his service line to check with someone else and they (the people on his phone) confirmed that it is supposed to spin super fast on low the spin setting. Which doesn't make any sense! The low spin speed is ridiculously fast, you can't even image how fast it spins. The clothes practically come out of the washer dry but so wrinkled the dryer can't even get the wrinkles out. I can't even get the wrinkles out with an Iron. Laundry takes longer because after I wash clothes before I put them in the dryer, I have to shake out and flatten each item. This washer basically doesn't have a low spin speed. It is very efficient at removing water from your clothes but at the clothes are so wrinkled they are unwearable even after they come out of the dryer. This washer has a Tag on feature which is supposed to allow you to use the LG smart laundry app to download a custom cycle to your washing machine. The LG phone tech gave me the runaround and then said the repair man would know how to make it work. The repair man said he went to training last week and he didn't know that this was even something that can be done on the washer. I showed him the Lg YouTube video about this feature. He called into customer service and they could not help him at all. Lg is making products that do not work and marketing with false advertising. This feature doesn't work at all.

We bought this a month ago. The machine runs smoothy and looks great. The only issue we have with it is the very strong mildew smell that we cannot get rid of. It has smelled since we first installed it. I hope we didn't receive a refurbished/ used unit.

Don't buy this machine. It doesn't add enough water so nothing gets cleaned. I have tried many many different ways to get the clothes, towels, blanket to be cleaned but it is not working because the machine doesn't add enough water. I have tried to wash the clothes at heavy setting with multiples extra rinses but it is not working. After, adding the clothes, it will take 30 min to spin around to add water but it still doesn't add enough water. It is taking a long time to run a cycle. Also, even this machines is at big capacity but it keeps getting out of balance when I tried to wash a IKEA light weight king comforter. I got this in white from Home Depot but Home Depot refused to help me because they said that it is not their responsibility. LG refused to take it back and they have been giving me a run around. It has been 8 months of night mare trying to deal with LG. I am still getting to no where. I am calling them again today.By the way, I am having same issue with LG dish washer. The LG dish washer doesn't add enough water so the dishes don't get cleaned either. Again, I tried many different ways to wash but it is not working because the dishes are not clean.After we finished remodeling the house, we decided to get brand new appliances. It was LG that we settled on but we are having such night mare now dealing with this.

this machine does not clean..i had a fridgadar washer for 17 yrs one of the first front loader ever still worked when i got rid of it,,this 8500 LG i run prewash always. still doesn't come out clean..not worth the money at all..disappointed in consumers affairs I purchased because of there rating..They usually are on target.
