This wire is made for speakers so it is not silicon and is a little stiff. It is great quality however so if you're planning to use it for any application where it flexibility is needed, like in radio controlled planes and cars, I would choose something different. but if you using it for your intended purpose, as speaker wire it is very high quality and works great. The slight stiffness makes it durable and not easy to be damaged if stepped on So it should last. It is a quality product even though it will not work for my initial intended purpose, which again, it was not designed for.

Just Posting the Negatives: Claim by seller: good conductivity (Aluminum has only 60% of the conductivity of copper) , high mechanical strength features (In reality aluminum has about 1/6 to 1/4 the yield strength, and additionally 1/6 fatigue stress when compared to copper). In summary the product as described is very misleading, clearly shown is on the image is copper wires (In reality it is copper clad aluminum). I read "Multiple Reviews" on the lower scored Amazon reviews of the Copper Clad Aluminum wiring turning to dust or cannot be soldered. The conductivity rating from NEC {National Electrical Code} for 14 GA Aluminum wire is null "not rated"). NEC code only starts at 12 gauge, however it does not address Copper Clad Aluminum. This Copper Clad Aluminum from the unwrapped spool, appears to be of high quality, However I am returning it for misleading advertising and the concerns with galvanic corrosion when terminating this wiring to anything but connectors certified to accept aluminum (Yes it copper clad, I am being conservative). I am concerned with persons purchasing this product thinking it is copper (look at as advertised picture). 14 GA copper is rated for 15 amps (My best guess for this wiring is 3A, After severe derating). Not going to deal with over heated wiring or wiring turning to dust. No No No, Not me!

A must have for marine uses....

We have a DC powered mini sound system that has speakers mounted outside for listening when relaxing outside . We try to buy from the Ma and Pa places on here. Being disabled . We need to be price conscious. At "The Mother In Laws Place" It is an off-grid cabin, we run DC on a lot of things . We see no need to use the inverter 24/7. just so you can turn on a light when you come home . We use LED bulbs in ceiling mount fixtures that are marked 12-volt DC only. These are controlled by controller with a FOB remote. The controller is board mounted on our PV control center . We use a few of the controllers for different rooms to control each ceiling light . We also run the kitchen stove exhaust fan with DC . The fresh air intake system for combustion is DC . These are fused in our DC only fuse center . This fuse center is controlled by a service disconnect at the DC master box . We also run two AC fuse boxes on our PV board . One protects various AC 110 volt circuits in the cabin , garage and sauna . The other protects 220 volt circuits from the aux gen set and to the split ac/heat pump and the aux battery charger for when the PV and hopefully soon to be wind generated power are not enough to keep up. We run 8 - 6volt Rolls batteries tied by Buss bars . They are temperature and voltage monitored on the PV board and by the inverter unit. The power is inverted by a Renogy 3000 . It also has a multi stage charger built it with flow through capability . These are almost all protected by Breakers purchased here . We have a remote shallow well system that we use a soft start unit on . It lessens the instant draw on the system . It is all about power management. This is a semi detailed , general description of some of the off grid power systems we use . I am going to add this review to each one of the parts bought on here .

Definitely going to be buying another spool, I started using this for everything in my custom camper. Simply easy to use because the insulation is mended between the two. Insulation is thick and didn't seem very affected when I was soldering or using heat shrink tubing on connections. Flexible and easy on your wallet. Great value for money. Excellent heat resistance.

This wire works very well for wiring LED lights. It solders fairly well and is pretty close to advertised guage. Will buy again

I read the reviews and was a bit skeptical of buying this. I use this wire on my atv for light bars so it gets wet every time I take it out. It's been on my machine for a couple of months now and so far so good. Time will only tell if the wire will break or corode. Let's hope not :). If it does I'll come on here and add it to this review
