Gator GP-PC1406.5SD Classic Snare Case - 14 Inches X 6.5 Inches

I was looking for a case to fit my axis laser pedals that are oversized. I had no luck, so I bought this case hoping I could make it work. I figured if it didn't work ,I'd at least have another case for a snare drum. It turns out this is almost a perfect fit for my oversized pedals. Just used a bit of foam and it works great. The case is obviously meant for a drum and works well for that too, these are fantastic cases.

I like these cases a lot. They really protect my gear. I still think they're a bit overpriced, even though they're not as much as SKB, but I daresay it puts them out of reach for many drummers who would love to better protect their gear.

This case has worked very well for me. It is very durable as well as lightweight. I currently us it for my 8x14 snare drum. It is well worth the price.

The case pictured is a more expensive case, not the one you will receive. The actual item is a square plastic case with no padding. It's an adequate case for the price, but the picture is misleading.

First I want to concur with the other reviewers regarding the product photo. As of the date of this review the image shown is a different model. This one looks identical to the six inch deep model shown on this page: Gator GP-PC1405.5SD Snare Drum Case.I own this brand as well as a number of SKB cases that have a reputation for being top of the line (with a higher price tag.) The SKB has a well deserved reputation for excellence, but this case is easily the equal as far as I can tell. I have been using both brands for more than a few years and both hold up and protect as advertised.Do be aware that this case is not the foam lined model. That means that the walls of this case will transmit shock, and also there will be more space between your snare drum and the walls. In other words, not total protection - but protection where it counts. Most soft cases just cannot provide the same level of protection (although there are some models that can actually exceed these, but at a price.)The actual inside dimensions are 15.75 inches square with a generous amount of depth that allows me to use this for a 7x14 inch single ply snare drum that I had custom built. Because of the nesting design that allows you to stack these cases the outside dimensions are 19 inches square. This does take up a chunk of space in a car trunk, so take that into account.I love is the square form factor, which allows me to angle my snare drum so that the throw-off aligns to one of the corners. This extra space has saved some of my snare drum from being damaged because I own a few with protruding throw-offs that fit too snugly in a round hard case. Another nice feature is the heavy construction of the strap and handle. My cases have been in heavy use for at least three years with no sign of wear except some exterior scruff marks.

This was supposed to be a case with suspended corner points and padding per the seller, but it wasn’t. It is only a hard shell case. I returned mine.

To reiterate what others have stated in the past, this is not the case in the picture. I believe the one in the picture is part of the Gator Elite line. This is a simple, square case that does what it's supposed to do - keep your snare secure and safe for transport. There is no padding, but I cut out the foam padding from the snare bag that I retired and secured it to the top and bottom of this case and now the snare sits very snugly during transport.Overall good case, that with some homemade padding can be an excellent case.

I LIVE IN SOUTH AMERICA AND I WENT TO THE US FOR A COUPLE DAYS.WHEN I GOT THERE I REALIZED THAT THE CASE I RECEIVED WAS NOT THE ONE I ORDERED, BUT SINCE I HAD TO RETURN TO MY COUNTRY AND PROTECT A SNARE DRUM I BOUGHT I DIDNT ASK FOR RETURNS.ITS A SHAME THAT CUSTOMERS SOMETIMES HAVE TO DEAL WITH THESE SITUATIONS.
