Easy to Read and Follow
I remember this course in College and it just about put me to sleep. Greg has down an outstanding job with this book. Everything is straight forward, he covers all the bases of validation. So far his accounting series has helped me put things in place. I haven't worked in the accounting field for 20 years. Yet, with Greg's help through his book it is all coming back to me. I recommend this for anyone even considering to start a business.

To the point
Covers different ways to value a business. I really didn't find anything in here that I had not already found online. But, if you want something in your hands on business valuation, this is great. I bought this with The Intelligent Exit by Mark Carmichael. If you're looking to sell a business, I HIGHLY suggest you get that book in your hands!

Great resource for Evaluating A Business
This is a great resource if you want to evaluate a business to buy or if you are in business and want to know the value of your business for many reasons. Being a bookkeeper for 20 years, I agree that it's not just about knowing your Profit and Loss numbers, the values of your assets. As Greg Shields mentions in the book, that doesn't always add up to the same amount as the value of your business. As always, there is more than one method to evaluate your business and Greg discusses the strengths and weaknesses of each style. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to start a business, owns a business, needs for funding for a business or is thinking of buying a business. It's important to know what you are looking at in all these cases. (Disclaimer: I received this book for free for my honest review of it and that is what I have given.)

Good guide if considering buying/selling a business
This is a helpful guide if you're looking to buy or sell a business. I read this as someone looking to buy a small business one day but I have little knowledge of how to calculate the value on my own. I can see this being a valuable reference guide for me when that time comes to make sure I don't get taken advantage of by the seller. This isn't an easy read for someone without some business/finance knowledge going in. It was a lot of new terminology and calculations I wasn't familiar with. However, it was very detailed, he explained everything very thoroughly, and I can see it being helpful. I particularly appreciated his efforts to include examples of actual business scenarios so everything would make more sense.Overall, I would recommend this book if buying or selling a business one day, as it does explain all possible angles you would have to consider.

Easy to understand
I found the book easy to understand. I think people that do not have much of a finance background will be able to understand.

Brutal, Copy & Paste with Restricted Return Policy (Drive to a Purolator Centre)
Wow. Super low value book. This was written by cutting and pasting together from various sources, I believe. The bonus is that their return policy requires a drive to a select few Purolator Centers! So, given this is another 1.5 hours for travel time/cost, I guess I will recycle. Do NOT buy this book and I would be highly suspect of this author's other books.

A detailed discussion on Business Valuation in a simple language and with several relatable examples
The book is very useful to understand the basic concepts in business valuation. The book is divided into meaningful chapters that tackle the subject methodically, without using too much jargon.
