Marantz CD6007 HiFi CD Player - Black

Honestly, getting my hands on the Marantz CD6007 was like breathing new life into my music collection. Right out of the box, I was struck by how solid and well-built it felt. There's this satisfying heft to it, and the sleek design is just stunning—it looks incredible on my shelf, like a piece of art that blends modern elegance with a hint of classic charm. Setting it up? A total breeze. The controls are super intuitive. It was basically plug and play, and I was navigating through my favorite albums in no time. The user interface is straightforward, so there's no fumbling around with complicated settings. But let's talk about the sound—that's where the magic really happens. The CD6007 delivers an unbelievably smooth listening experience. Every note comes through with crystal clarity, and there's a richness that's hard to describe. Vocals are warm and full, instruments have this dimensionality, and the overall sound is wonderfully rounded. Gone are the days of harsh sibilance ruining a good track; everything just flows seamlessly. What's wild is how it's made me rediscover songs I've heard a hundred times. I'm picking up on subtle details and nuances that I never noticed before. It's like the music has more depth and color. I've found myself getting lost in albums, fully immersed in the experience. If you're considering an upgrade, I'd say go for it. The Marantz CD6007 isn't just a CD player—it's a gateway to experiencing your music in a whole new way. It's beautifully built, a joy to operate, and it genuinely makes a huge difference in sound quality. Trust me, once you hear it, you'll wonder how you ever got by without it. I had to replace a geriatric CD player that had finally ceased to function. After doing a little research I found that the Marantz fitted the bill very nicely. The sound is very clean and warm, with no trace of the clinical quality I have often found in digital sound. The functions are straightforward and no-nonsense, and the machine was very easily set up with the rest of my system. The player is often recommended as the best of the modestly priced machines, and I would concur with that.

The built quality is excellent; it feels solid and operates with a smoothness that belongs at a far high price. I found myself entertained by the Marantz dynamic abilities and a warm, spacious soundstage that's rare at this price. I couldn't shake this cd player; I just kept wanting to listen to just one more track, one more album. There is something very engaging about the Marantz; it does something about reaching into the music's soul and making you feel involved with the experience. Bear in mind that I have coupled the Marantz with a Denon PMA-600NE amplifier and a pair of RP-600M Klipsch, which are very lively and open-sounding speakers, and apparently an excellent match for this cd player. I tried the headphone output with a pair of Beyerdynamics DT 770 PRO 250ohm headphones, which are very difficult to drive, and I am happy to say it's a very competent one. The setup menu has a built-in gain adjustment setting low, mid and high, ensuring compatibility across a wide range and variety of headphones. I was highly impressed with the Marantz 6007, and I am confident you won't find a more entertaining, more pleasing sounding cd player until you near the £800 or £1000 mark. It just might be the last CD player you'd ever buy.

If you’re thinking of buying a CD player in this price range the Marantz CD6007 is the one without a doubt. Sound quality is great. USB port allows music files etc to be played, also great. Likes to be paired with Marantz or Denon amplifiers. Sound type: Deep full bass, detailed midrange, natural, wide and deep stereo imagery, accurate good treble with no harshness. If you own a CD6006UK version and are tempted to upgrade to the CD6007, is it worth it? In my opinion yes. Did you think that the 6006 sounded too laid back in the vocals and not quite bright sounding enough? Would you like a slightly wider and deeper soundstage? The CD6007 could be your answer as it addresses these points but not significantly so. After all why spoil that Marantz sound. Both players sound very similar but the CD6007 is better in my opinion. Also the usb on the CD6007 can deal with higher quality files. Are you happy with the styling of the CD6006? The CD6007 is identical. It’s your call. I’m very happy with mine and I’m glad I upgraded.

If you are still deliberating whether to go for the Marantz CD6007 after hours of research and due diligence then stop, just stop right now and pull the trigger. It’s a winner. I have this in combination with the Marantz PM6007 and the Marantz NA6006 Network Audio player. This fantastic set is paired with Elac Debut 2.0 B6.2 speakers. The speakers also sound brilliant. It’s a perfect match and just beautiful “music to my ears”. Update: Having now used the CD6007 for many hours over the past month I’m still blown away with how lovely this CD player and the whole system sounds together. I’ve just added a TEAC TN-3B turntable and this also sounds so sweet played through the Marantz PM6007. I’m currently enjoying playing vinyl that I haven’t played for 30 years and I’m amazed at just how good they still sound. The Marantz system does an excellent job of reproducing the sound.

I have nothing to compare it against as this isn't a replacement for an old unit, just decided to get all my CD's from the loft and enjoy them again. It's connected to a Cambridge Audio amp and Q Acoustics speakers and it just sounds really good. Build quality is excellent also. I spent ages looking at what was available and this one seemed to be rated better than all the others in this price range so i took the plunge. No regrets so far!

Upgraded from Marantz CD 6005 . So much better buy one while you still can.

Tres bon appareil qui lit même les cd rayés !!!

I bought this new CD6007 to replace an old Marantz CD65, which I have owned for 36 years, but had started to give random bursts of digital static. I wanted to replace it with a comparable modern player. The CD6007 seemed to be the one to get in my price range. When I unpacked it I was pleased by the weight of the player and its design. However, it is the results that matter. I was amazed to hear extra instruments, extra backing vocals and clearer sound on every CD I put in the new player. I have also played various files from USB (FLAC, ALAC, MP3) and they all sound excellent. I am very pleased with the CD6007 and am slowly working through my CDs listening to them again, as if for the first time!

Lettore fantastico, qualità/prezzo rapporto eccezionale, la musica che ne esce è cristallina e tutti gli strumenti musicali sono riprodotti in modo separato e fantasticamente con un effetto reale e di presenza. Lettore che abbinato ad un amplificatore giusto, non ha nulla da invidiare a lettori di fascia altissima (10.000 euro e più). Sono contentissimo dell'acquisto, lo rifarei ad occhi chiusi. I was looking for a CD player or transport and bought the Marantz CD6007 imported at discount from the UK. It's a solidly built unit and impressed me for sound quality and voicing played through a tube amp. So many memories are encapsulated in my collection of LPs, cassettes and CDs. The CD6007 has a USB file input to also allow digital music purchases.
