Best thing for your Strat!
This overdrive is astonishingly good - quite possibly the best I've ever used (and I've used most of the world renowned overdrives). I play Fender Strats most of the time (so I can't vouch for how this'll sound with a humbucker guitar). I find it has a pleasant full-range sort of sound, where it doesn't over emphasize (or overly de-emphasize any particular part of the frequency spectrum). As a result, it works great in pickup position 2 (bridge + middle). It sounds like a driven version of your clean tone. I'm addicted. The closest recorded example I can think of for you to listen to would be the solo at the end of "Everybody Wants To Rule The World."The reason I bought this is because I got the Keeley Tone Workstation right when it came out and fell in love with the 1962 in that pedal, and wanted to be able to have a "portable" version that'll run on a 9v battery - for gigs where my pedalboard would be overkill. It's good enough to be worth the additional investment! (YMMV, especially if you use humbuckers.)

Great Pedal!!!
First off, anything Keeley puts out is a quality product. In regards to this specific pedal, this thing is amazing.I run this behind a Klon (that's my always on pedal) and use this to give some serious above and beyond gain. It plays exceptionally well with both single coil and humbucking pickups and takes my BF Deluxe Reverb to rock anything from full on cream to G&R Appetite scream. Seriously, tone stacking with this pedal finally got me the tone I've had in my head for over 20 years of playing.

One of the very best in my opinion
This is an outstanding overdrive pedal. One of the very best in my opinion. It has just a little more grit than a tube screamer or a real Marshall Bluesbreaker pedal, but is not quite as heavy as an Xotic SL Drive or a PlimSoul. It also still remains very touch sensitive & responsive & has a clarity to the pick attack that other higher gain pedals often lack.
