Do you like vivid descriptions of medieval torture? Then this is for you.
Disillusioned at the apparent absence of anything good written in the last 10 years I thought I might turn to the distant past to enjoy the perspective of a more thoughtful age, by a noted chronicler. Sadly it seems to be mostly grisly descriptions of people being dismembered, burned alive, etc. I guess at least it made me grateful I didn't live then. Definitely NOT uplifiting. Waste of time and money. I stopped listening after someone was flayed alive...
