The instructions are so bad that I could not even install the batteries, let alone use it. The insert says there is a 1 year guarantee but no company name or contact info. The Amazon return period is up and I am stuck with a useless piece of junk. Deserves ZERO stars but could not submit without any.

This is such a great way to take a temperature, and fairly accurate. I will say that it was very difficult to get the battery cover off when I got it (had to use a super thin screw driver to push from the back, but then it opened...the batteries were wrapped in plastic so it would not work until you removed that...which is good that you have fresh batteries. I used it on many people and then took their temp with a digital thermometer and most of the time it was within 0.5 of what it read (see photo below). Occasionally it was off, but that was usually because they just came in from outside so this device showed a lower temp as would be expected. I plan to use it with my daycare kids if I suspect a temperature. I received this product at a discount in exchange for testing it and giving my honest, non-biased review. I wanted a backup thermometer for my toddler and this arrived just in time! Compared to my other thermometer, the reading on this one was slightly off. It seems to read slightly higher.I had difficulty opening the bottom part for the battery. You have to really push down on it and slide it outwards (direction of the arrow). Then when it is slightly off the lip, you can use your finger nail to hook on to the edge and flip the cover open.There is no on/off switch. Basically press the toggle button on the handle to turn it on and then it automatically shuts off after a few seconds.There is also a setting where you can turn the "fever alarm" on/off. I have mine on off so that it doesn't wake up my daughter.I also tested it on food that just came out of the microwave and switched the toggle to "object" mode. It read it at 156 degrees! When I switched it back to "BODY" mode, it just read "HI". Also, whenever you initially use the thermometer, it will say "LO" on the screen.Overall, I'm satisfied with this thermometer. It is a little bit bulky in the hand to hold but it does its job and has multiple memory to record the temperatures you take.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. I took away a star because of the difficulty of putting the battery in/out.

I got this item as a amazon review trader item as a discounted price. I have been using this item for couple days now and it has worked great. I love how it gives you an alarm letting you know the fever is over normal and does have one. I also love how you can check temp of objects as well. it is pretty accurate on temps as well, I checked it compared to others and it come out same temp. I also like how you can check the temp on all parts of the body and so there for it doesn't scare the children. My daughter hates the under arm ones and so this one works perfect. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a good accurate thermometer.

Pretty easy to use. Very fast response and very accurate. Way better than using a regular thermometer, and more convenient.
