Perfect for the price
For the price it’s a solid deal. I love bamboo tabletops. I have one on a $900 stand up desk at work that I love. That one is butter smooth and the scoop is deeply beveled—that’s what you get for nearly a grand. This UNICOO desktop is being used at home and is mounted on a $260 Feizibo stand up desk base. This is a perfect combination for a total $400.UNICOO’s desktop arrived with a few small imperfections including two really minor dents on the edge, which are truly unnoticeable. Almost perfectly flat, which you would expect from cross bias construction. Drilling into the core I found the inner plys to be softer that the outer verniers, which makes me wonder if a lower grade of sheet was used in the middle. Not to worry...a #14 wood screw will hold securely. The finish I would guess is 2 coats of sprayed satin urethane, which should hold up fairly well. There was a small area of blush in the finish, which is only noticeable if you’re a finish guy (I am). I’ll look forward to refinishing this some day. The scooped out section is lightly beveled (steep angle), which is comfortable, but just not as formal as a deep bevel.. I’m guessing, based on what I found in the core, that’s there’s just not enough high quality bamboo down deep to support a deep bevel. Picky picky I know. The grommets and cable guides are good enough quality. IMPORTANT: you open and close the grommet lid by turning the lid from below a few degrees. This is not obvious. Pop out the entire grommet before attempting to open it and be careful, the cast metal has some sharp edges. The rubber fringed cable protector in the lid hole is a bit of a mystery in that there is no way to pass a cord through it. We dispensed of it without any downside. All in all, the top we received is well made and perfect for a casual office. If there is any issue it will be shipping damage. It’s a heavy piece and if it gets thrown around between China and your house you might also find some minor dents. I can predict a few reviews in the future will take off a star or two based on shipping damage. ANOTHER IMPORTANT POINT: read the manufacturer notice in the listing. You have 30 days to return a damaged top and it must be returned in the original box or you’ll be charged a 20% return fee. Is this even possible given Amazon’s generally more friendly return policy? The bottom line is this top is fairly priced and looks and feels nice. I’d buy it again.

The best? no. Darn great? YES!
NOT too good to be true. Genuinely better than I thought it was going to be.I got this for my very first sit stand desk, I paired this loverly (I know what I said!) table with my monoprice work stream "easy fold out dual motor" frame. Love the frame by the way, so far worth every penny.I digress, this is most certainly not the best bamboo table I have seen. But it comes with a well enough done protective clear coat/sealant on the top with nothing or a mild sealant bottom. The included capped through hole cable covers/guides are somewhat threaded. You have to twist them in a specific direction to undo them. I also had to file some flashing off of them but nothing an hour or two of using them as a fidget toy also couldn't remedy if you lacked something to abrasive to rub them with. They also pull up and out easily enough, so you can ignore them if you so desire. There are indeed some pre drilled holes that likely match up with the desk they also pair this with that appears to be an older/cheaper dual motor design. Given the cost of that bundle... I honestly wouldn't complain about that value. Especially if you treated it well.Digressing once more, there was more than enough thickness to the top for me to be able to drill in some holes for my frame. I wished I could've used the predrilled ones but alas, they were relegated to being but guides at best. The bamboo doesn't seem to be quite dense and if you use a heavy aluminum keeb then you are likely to dent, scratch, or even chip the top coat. So do be a bit gentle on it if you want to keep it lookin' as purdy as the day you got it in. Sans that, it's still very much a full bamboo table even if it isn't the best one. It's a looker for the cost and more than large enough for my many headphone amps, dacs, and even the extra tall (vertical) dual monitor stand that's clamped onto the back. The top coat appears to be liquid resistant but again, not the thickest. So do be sure to clean up your mess with due haste, and don't solder or whatever directly onto the top.. obviously. (I have a lot of hobbies, shaddap!)Sooooo yeah, not the best but you aren't paying for the best. You're paying for a budget friendly, high relative value table. I'd totally get it again to be honest.

Good cheap tabletop, but you get what you pay for.
The clear coat finish is only on the top and edge of the tabletop, while the underside remains unfinished. There were some paint dips along the edges as well, as if the finish was applied too thick and allowed to run. Also, the measurements for width (27.6 ") is the maximum width, from the inside edge ao the tow "points" on the curved edge, which means the useable width is closer to 24-25". This makes the useable space a bit cramped if you are using a larger monitor and prefer to rest your forearms on the table itself. The cable management holes are also a bit small. Not bad for a cheap tabletop though.

We now have a desk!
This desktop was purchased for a sit/stand motorized base that we already had. It was packaged well, there was a substantial dent/rip on the outside of the package but no damage to the desktop. 5 stars for that! The desktop finish is smooth and properly stained. It is thick enough that all mounting screws to the base were able to be securely attached. The wire tray underneath mounts a little oddly, but once you figure that out it is well designed. While the pre-drilled holes were for a different base, it was no trouble to drill additional holes to match our base. Pro tip: Wrap a piece of masking tape around your drill bit as a marker so that you don't drill through the desktop! All-in-all my short statured employee is very pleased with her new desk.

very good value for the money
I built my own desk adding simple IKEA desk legs to this bamboo top. It is rather heavy for bamboo material, it might have a solid core of some kind. But this makes it sturdy as a desk should be.Otherwise the wood is beautiful and well shaped. I like the smooth edges. The cable openings help keep things tidy.
