The Only Grease for My Makairas!
I've been using Cal's Universal Reel & Star Drag Grease in my Okuma Makaira reels for years, and it's absolutely fantastic. It's actually the same grease Okuma uses in these reels from the factory, which tells you something about its quality and suitability. For me, reliability is key when I'm offshore, and Cal's grease has never once let me down. It keeps everything running smoothly, protects against corrosion, and holds up under the pressure of big fish. If you own Makairas, or frankly any quality reel, this is the grease to use. Highly recommended!

The gold standard
This stuff is great. The tin is relatively small but you don’t use a lot. When used correctly the tin will last a very very long time. Just needed to restock after about 10 years on the last one I bought.

smoother drag

Works great!
Replaced drag washers in Penn reels and applied grease to washers and gears. Nice and smooth! 1oz may not seem like much but I still have plenty left after doing 5 reels

Quality Stuff
It freed up the drag on all four reels I used it on. The drags are now perfectly smooth with no binding before release. The way I tested my reels drags was to spin the spool with my fingers as slow as I could and see if the would spool and lurch and stop or spin freely.
