I can't give you an absolutely definitive answer, but I highly suspect it dissolves the stone. My brother-in-law was the first in our family to use this particular product. His doctor almost insisted on immediate surgery to remove the stones he had. That's how severe his condition was. My brother-in-law, wisely or unwisely, stalled. He started using this particular product. After using the product for 2 months, there was no evidence on the ultrasound of any stones whatsoever. However, he did not pass any stones. So I deduce that the stones dissolved for him. I would call him and ask him, but he is the type to go on for 3 hours about it. Good luck.
