I wanted to love this rod. Looks beautiful, well built, I love the billet collar lock It really looks and feels like a quality rod! I purchased this rod for kayak fishing on my neighborhood lake for smaller bass. I use a lot of finesse setups so I like my rods at 6' or 6'6" and like to target docks, shoreline and cover, so it seemed perfect for me. I put 8lb braided spider wire on mine and a nice little chatter bait. The first day was amazing! I caught 6 largemouth of varying sizes and even got a catfish! I was so pleased with my new set up I went out again the next day. Three casts in and I snagged a big of algae floating on the surface of the water, a small cluster about the size of a softball, maybe. No worries, this happens all the time, I thought. I was reeling it in and as it got closer to the kayak my tip bent and snapped under the pressure from the algae?! About 3 to 4 inches of tip. I have never had anything like that happen to me before. That cluster of algae was certainly not over 8 pounds. Maybe 2 to 3 at most...I am pretty bummed about it. I wanted to love this rod, my fishing partner was even gling to pick one up after our first day out becaise he really liked it. That is, until I told him why I cant go out fishing again today.Not sure who I can contact about a possible replacement or refund 😔. Fishing is on pause for the time being.UPDATE (7/17/20) : Updating my review to 5 stars. Fantastic customer service!! Quick, kind and active in making sure I was takem care of. They saw me review and immediately wanted to make it right, shipping out a 6'6" medium rod to replace my broken one and I couldn't be happier. Strong, sensative and sleek. A great do it all daily driver for my midwest bass fishing! I reccomend giving them a try.

Firstly, I was extremely impressed by the way this rod was shipped. I have never ordered a fishing rod online, so I am not sure if this packaging method is standard, but cadence ships their rods in a very secure and sturdy rod tube with a ton on foam packing. As someone who worked in logistics previously, I can really appreciate good packaging haha.I have taken the rod out quite a few times now for bass fishing, surf fishing, stripers and even spent some time fishing for reds in the waterways behind Sullivan's Island. Very accurate rod with a lot of backbone. Great for pulling in big reds or feisty pond bass. I would highly recommend this rod for a variety of freshwater and saltwater uses. Killer rod

Cadence Essence Rod:First thing that impressed me was the way the rod was package for shipping. Arrived in standard cardboard tube but inside rod was protected by foam “doughnuts” that kept the rod centered through out shipping. Rod has a nice balance, hook keeper, and eyelet wraps are really nice. A good looking rod that feels nice in your hands. The Essence arrived in time for my smallmouth trip. Paired it with my CS10 and hit the road. Rod performed great. The Essence had excellent transmission of the bottom while fishing jigs and tubes. I had a great time with this rod. Price is definitely not an indication of performance.

I came across the brand "cadence" just this year have tried their reels and there rods and I have zero complaints! Many of the 7ft rods you find on amazon even from the big names are two piece. No matter what technology they come out with no matter what they description says I have yet to find a two piece rod that has the sensitivity and feel of a one piece. I have tried and tried thinking that when you have ten rods in your car at all times two piece would be easier and less likely to break. The truth of the matter is I break more two piece rods than one!? not sure how that works but it does. I have spent upwards of 200 dollars on spinning rods and I couldn't say that one of them had better sensitivity or feel. Also I have broken all of them. So not only is this a good rod but if you break it your not gonna break the bank buying another. My advice try it out. I use it for dropshot, carolina rig, and texas rig baits and it works great for those applications!

I wanted to replace a 6.5 ft Cabalas spinning rod that was my favorite trout rod for 20 yrs that I broke in half while trying to take it apart ( 2 peace rod ) that is no longer available from Cabalas . This is even better than I had hope for , for one it is graphite which I prefer over carbon fiber . CF is to fragile I have broken so many rod tips I have given up counting . This rod has a very soft and quick tip and about a third of the top is very flexible but you still have the rest of the rod for strength in the back bone. It cast 1/8 oz jig 75 ft with 8 lb braid . If you want a light fast action rod that compares to rods over 100 bucks buy it .

This fishing rod was wrapped by a hardpaper tube. It is really wrapped professionally and protected from breaking the rod. The tube is really practical for storing the fishing rod after it is not be used. The fishing rod is about 7 feet or 2.3 meters. It is pretty long but it is a heavy duty rod so it could hold and fight with the big fish at least over 20lbs. The holder is wrapped by a soften foamy. It is comfortable and having a tighten grips when you fight with a bigger fish. At the button of side is built with a hook holder after you have done fishing, you could place your hook to hold tight for preventing endanger or get hurting from the hook dangling around. The rod is really lightweight and so easy to whip it far away. This rod is really brought me a pleasant and happiness because I really enjoy my time on weekends when I fish with it.

I gave it 3 stars because the part that screws down to hold the reel on was not glued very well and I ended up with a reel that was loose. I put a zip tie on to finish my day. Overall I like the rod I am going to try to glue it back together. I would buy another one if I break this one after I fix it
