8Bitdo Arcade Stick for Switch & Windows, Arcade Fight Stick Support Wireless Bluetooth, 2.4G Receiver and Wired Connection

I bought this mainly for my Switch, though its compatibility with PC was an added bonus, especially with wireless capability. I did not expect it to be as good as it is, but it is a VERY solid arcade stick. My main intended use was for fighting games, particularly the Capcom collections available for Switch, which are also my greatest gage of how good an arcade stick is, because if I can easily pull off fireballs and dragon punches, for example, then I know it's good. This thing handles all those moves and more with ease, and has been outstanding for other fighting games as well. The build quality exceeded my expectations too; it has a good amount of weight to it, useful when I'm battling it out as it doesn't slide all over the place, helped by the large grip pads on the bottom. The buttons feel good too, very responsive and not too clicky. The wireless function works great, and I've had zero pairing/connectivity issues at all so far using it with my Switch. Looking forward to trying it out with some PC fighting games as well. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good quality arcade stick with a fun, retro NES Advantage look to it. Would buy an 8Bitdo product again.

This is definitely the best entry level fight stick out there ! What I mostly love about this fight stick is that it is very easy to use and can be used with multiple systems to include PC and Android devices ! My second favorite thing about it is the ability to be able to easily customize it with actual original arcade parts and it's very easy to do ! I have maximized this arcade stick with the very best parts that this stick can possibly fit as it does have limitations due to its size. The stick and buttons now feel so much more responsive with a better tactile feel that I wanted and I now have a much more precision on the joystick that I installed ! This is definitely a must have ! The USB dongle works very well with very minimal lag that I can honestly can't tell from the wired connection.

I've been a fan of 8Bitdo's products for a while and I was told by numerous people this would be a good beginner arcade stick and, honestly, yeah, they were correct. I love this arcade stick. 8Bitdo's Arcade Stick has so many qualities about it that I adore. For one, the NES aesthetic is always going to be great, but more importantly: The build feels quality. The plastic doesn't feel cheap and the stick and dials have a nice, tactile click that feel very quality. The buttons also feel like they can really take a pounding. I love that you can switch between Xinput for general device use and Switch for Nintendo Switch use via a dedicated dial and that switching between profiles actively changes the layout of the button LED displays to accomodate Nintendo's unique letter layout. That is seriously a really nice attention to detail, and there's even a dedicated dial to specify whether the stick itself inputs as left analog, right analog, or D-pad. I also love that the stick gives you different wired and wireless options for connecting to your devices. One more thing I love: The board inside is built in such a way so that you may easily modify the device with your own custom parts should you see fit. It's not something I'm going to partake in as the NES aesthetic is perfect for me as is, but I appreciate that I have been given the option would I wish it. The only thing I have an issue with is the dedicated P1 and P2 buttons don't seem to function as start buttons. There's already a dedicated start button next to the dials, so it's not too big of an issue, but it just feels bizarre to press P1/P2 and have nothing happen. I know they work just fine as signal does through them, but I have no idea what they are mapped to be since they don't act like start buttons. In the end, it doesn't really bother me all that much, but I still felt compelled to note it regardless.

I tried to like it, but I'm one of the few that hate the new arcade button layout where the buttons are under the top set at a reversed angle. All of my arcade sticks from the NES to the PS1 have been angled under to the right instead of the left. Plus my older wrists don't take kindly to twisting my wrist and stretching my fingers so far apart. As you can see, my workhorse has been my Super Nintendo SN Programmable since the SNES days. It's my favorite joystick I play for any game not requiring dual analogs or L2 and R2. It's not a bad stick, just not for me. Onto the Switch 2. It didn't work at first. 2.4Ghz dongle, BT, and even cable it wouldn't recognize. Had to update it via the computer. While it DID let it be seen with the cable, I couldn't get it to work over the 2.4ghz dongle, I didn't bother with BT because I know it has the worst lag. I'm sure 8bitDo will fix this later, I just don't care to keep it. There is a slot you can hide the dongle of you play BT or cable, but no place for the cable (unlike my Mayflash 300 stick). I feel the select and start are at a bad spot because you have to reach up withyour left hand or reach even farther with your right. It's a nice stick and fairly big. It sits on the lap easy, but a bit big when you're done playing and put it off to the side. I think many people used to pro fighting sticks would like this, but just can't get used to it, so I sent it back.

I really enjoy old school arcade style games, and this Arcade stick makes playing them a joy. Going from a regular game controller or keyboard to this feels so good! I've been using it wirelessly on my Windows 10 PC using the 2.4ghz USB adapter and the connection is solid and lag free. There are tons of arcade games for dirt cheap on Steam so it's been fun to dig through the classics. The controller gets recognized like a wired Xbox controller so a lot of games are plug and play or require minimal configuration. You can remap the controller using Steam for each game or overall using the 8bitdo Ultimate software. The controller is extremely well made, and built like a tank. It's heavy!!! A few pounds at least. It works great on a desktop or in the lap as well. The battery lasts an incredibly long time... it's rated at 40 hours so you won't need to charge it often. It also auto-sleeps after inactivity so you don't even need to remember to turn it off. I am happy with the sticks and buttons that are included so far. I may upgrade eventually which looks like it would be very easy to do. I am very happy with this arcade stick and I think any fan of retro gaming will be as well. It comes at a borderline premium price point, but in my opinion is worth it, both in functionality and build quality.

Worked great out of the box on both Windows and Linux, and works great with wired, BT and the included 2.4ghz dongle on both platforms. Since it supports Xinput, it's detected by just about everything you could throw at it on PC. Wonderful for retro emulation, particularly for arcade games. Haven't personally tried the Switch mode yet, but I see no reason why it wouldn't work just as well. The stick is hefty and stays in place even with vigorous use due to a metal plate inside the bottom giving it staying power. Like some other users here I don't care for the square gate, even though pro fighter players swear by them. Replaced it with a SANWA JLF octagonal gate and I couldn't be happier. Took me maybe 10 minutes, 5 of which was just figuring out how to safely detach the old gate. Being so affordable yet completely moddable with higher end parts makes this a great entry level arcade/fight stick with plenty of room to grow to match even high end arcade sticks in quality. It would be nice if the stick were more easily modded without a soldering iron, but the fact that it can be modded at all is enough for me if I ever get to that point. If you do want to open it up, unfortunately you'll need a narrow t10 screwdriver. The iFixit screwdriver just barely fits, so if you've got anything even slightly bigger than that or no t10 at all, you'll also want to pick up a smaller screwdriver if you have any plans of modding this thing. It would have been nice if you just used standard phillips screws. When you put the stick in Nintendo Mode, it reverses the A/B and X/Y buttons, even including new light-up indicators showing the buttons. While the LEDs are a nice touch, I don't really see a point to this reversal personally, I'd have preferred a consistent button layout across platforms. It doesn't make much sense to me. Just because the buttons change places on a gamepad doesn't mean they should on an arcade stick which uses a completely different form factor. I rely pretty heavily on muscle memory which is adapted to whatever controller I'm using, so I'm sure this would trip me up if I used it on the Switch. My biggest complaint, which is still a very small complaint, is the limitations on the macro software. I wish you could bind buttons that aren't on the gamepad to the macro buttons, particularly L3/R3 or even keyboard buttons. One of the games I play uses the L3+R3 button combination occasionally and it would be nice to be able to bind it to one of the macro buttons, and occasionally it would be nice to hit a keyboard binding too. Overall, fantastic stick.

Years ago, when shopping for my first fight stick, I thought that this one looked really neat but it was a lot cheaper than the others, and just assumed it was inferior. It is not. I cannot speak highly enough about this arcade stick. It's just incredible. I ended up buying this after having owned and modded a few others, and since have grown to know more and more about sticks in general. I have to say, for the features, size and PRICE of this stick, you are getting something you actually cannot find in any other fight stick on the market presently. 2.4gz wireless, bluetooth, L3/R3 programmable buttons, portability, stunning design, and upgradeability all for under 100 bucks. The Mayflash F700 is the only thing that comes close, yet it's almost twice as expensive, boring looking, and doesn't have L3/R3 buttons. Only thing it does better is it works for multiple consoles and is larger (if you like that) This thing out of the box is definitely usable, but man, once you upgrade it with some better parts...it honestly is just the coolest stick out there. Only downside about modding I'd say is the gray is a bit brownish and doesn't look great with every color. Google some mods of this before you choose your colors, just to see how it might look. You also can't really add art to it like most sticks, and if you want to use screw in buttons like gamer finger or alutimo, you're going to have to really get creative to make them fit. Sanwa click in buttons work just fine though.

I'll start by saying this is my first stick i play on PC, games being mainly Guilty Gear Strive and SFV at the moment will get SF6 when more characters come out. I also play MK but don't use a stick on it. This stick is great out of the box, however the buttons were a little loud for my liking...so I switched them out for Seimitsu's across the board with silencers in them, way more quiet and no rattle any more when shaking the stick around. I kept the stick itself stock and put a Crown DX battop on there instead of the ball top and it just screwed on, finally I put on an octo gate. It was all easy and it required no tools besides the T10 screwdriver to open the bottom to access the inside of the stick if you plan to mod you specifically need an T10 screw driver with at least 3 to be safe inches of length and can't be too stubby. I recommend this stick as your first for the following reasons: The wireless capabilities are great if you're on PC use the dongle and not Bluetooth for less input lag(its basically non existent). The size of it is great if you don't like huge heavy sticks but want something lighter but also doesn't take up as much space on your lap, yet has a sturdy feel to it. Its a good price for a starter stick and everything it comes with is great for its price, wireless, and moddable parts. I would recommend replacing the buttons or adding silencers though they can be loud. This stick has third-party options to allow you to use it on the main consoles as well you just have to search for them if that feature is really that important to you. All in all great stick I've had it for over a year and a half now and its great will upgrade the stick soon again if it ever breaks I'll probably buy another one.

Dopo svariate settimane di test intensivi, posso affermare con assoluta certezza che l'8BitDo Arcade Stick è una delle periferiche più indovinate e solide attualmente presenti sul mercato. Merita a mani basse il punteggio massimo di cinque stelle, e vi spiego nel dettaglio il perché, analizzandolo sia dal punto di vista dell'esperienza "pronto all'uso", sia per le sue immense potenzialità di personalizzazione (modding). ​Qualità costruttiva e design Fin dal primo momento in cui lo si estrae dalla confezione, l'8BitDo Arcade Stick restituisce una sensazione di livello premium. Il peso è bilanciato alla perfezione: è sufficientemente massiccio (circa 1,5 kg) da rimanere incollato alla scrivania o alle gambe durante le sessioni di gioco più concitate, ma non così pesante da risultare scomodo. Chi smanetta con i sistemi operativi dedicati al retrogaming sa bene che, a volte, mappare correttamente un arcade stick può essere un piccolo incubo tecnico. Con l'8BitDo, invece, è bastato collegarlo: Batocera lo ha riconosciuto istantaneamente, mappando i tasti in modo logico e funzionale fin dal primo avvio. ​Il controller offre una tripla connettività: Bluetooth, ricevitore wireless USB a 2.4 GHz (nascosto in un pratico scomparto sul fondo, una vera genialata) e connessione cablata USB-C. Io utilizzo principalmente il dongle a 2.4 GHz e l'input lag è letteralmente impercettibile, un fattore vitale per i giochi arcade che richiedono un tempo di risposta al millisecondo. ​L'anima del modder: il cambio del restrictor gate Arriviamo ora al vero punto di forza di questa periferica: la facilità con cui è possibile modificare l'hardware interno. Di fabbrica, l'8BitDo monta ottimi componenti proprietari, ma il joystick arriva con un "restrictor gate" (la piastra in plastica posta alla base della leva che limita e guida il movimento dello stick) di forma quadrata. Il gate quadrato va bene per i picchiaduro classici, ma può risultare un po' spigoloso e impreciso se si giocano platform, giochi di guida o shoot 'em up. ​Essendo un utente esigente, ho deciso di aprire lo chassis e cambiare il restrictor gate originale, mettendo quello ottagonale. L'operazione è stata disarmante per la sua semplicità. Svitando le viti Torx sul fondo (niente sigilli di garanzia fastidiosi o componenti incollati), si accede a un interno cablato in maniera pulitissima. I componenti seguono lo standard universale del settore arcade; ho sganciato il gate quadrato originale e ho inserito quello ottagonale in pochi minuti. Il risultato? Un feeling pazzesco. Le rotazioni a 360 gradi per le mosse speciali ora scivolano che è una meraviglia, e le diagonali sono guidate in modo fisicamente preciso e morbido grazie agli otto "angoli" del nuovo gate. Questo upgrade ha trasformato un ottimo controller in un capolavoro su misura. ​Software e Autonomia Menzione d'onore anche per il software di gestione (8BitDo Ultimate Software) su PC, che permette di rimappare i tasti e creare macro complesse da assegnare ai pulsanti dedicati (P1 e P2). È comodissimo per impostare scorciatoie di sistema (ad esempio il salvataggio o il caricamento rapido degli stati di gioco). La batteria integrata da 1000 mAh, infine, è instancabile: assicura decine di ore di gioco continuo in wireless, facendovi letteralmente dimenticare di ricaricarlo. ​Conclusioni In sintesi, questo 8BitDo non è solo un controller, ma una base in continua evoluzione. Se siete giocatori occasionali, avrete tra le mani un dispositivo eccellente e pronto all'uso. Se siete invece utenti tecnici disposti a personalizzare il proprio hardware, avrete a disposizione un vero e proprio "telaio" su cui montare gate ottagonali o pulsanti professionali con una facilità imbarazzante. A questo prezzo, è impossibile trovare di meglio. Consigliatissimo!

To preface, I am not a hardcore arcade or fighter game player. I understand that there is a market who demands the best quality when it comes to arcade sticks and I am not one who will be able to compare against other offerings on the market. That said, I do have a few of 8Bitdo's products and have been satisfied with all of them. I bought this arcade stick as a novelty item. Now that I've used it for a few days, it has surpassed my expectations. It has been tremendously fun to play the games on offer through the Nintendo Switch Online service. I also have copies of Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection as well as the Sega Genesis Classics collection. The arcade stick makes it fun to revisit these games. As an added note, this will not make you better at Street Fighter; I am still horrible at it. The build quality on this product is fantastic. It's heavier than expected, which is a good thing as it doesn't move around and I can even play comfortably with it sitting on my lap. The joystick has a very satisfying click. The buttons feel good and according the 8Bitdo, can be customized easily (no soldering required) with aftermarket buttons if you choose to do that. It is compatible with the Nintendo Switch, Windows and Apple computers. One neat feature is that when you switch the knob between Switch or X-Input, the button display will change to indicate that. It can be connected in three ways. You can connect it through bluetooth, which is what I have done when using it with my Switch. I don't notice any input delays, though I am not an expert at this either. You can also connect it through a 2.4Ghz wireless connection. The dongle is neatly hidden away within the unit, which is a nice touch. Or you can opt to connect it through a USB cable. The cable is really long too, which I'm sure will be appreciated by those who chose to use it as a wired arcade stick. The only downside to this arcade stick, is that it is currently limited to what it can be used for. I also have an Xbox with Gamepass, and it would have been nice to be able to use this arcade stick with all the fighting games available on that service. I cross my fingers, that a firmware update can fix this.
