A tool that every gardener who grows vegetables must have. This one has particularly long stem that helps test soil temperatures deep below the surface.

I moved to a cooler location and wanted to expand on my vegetable gardening, used to live where the season was long and you could fairly easily grow a bountiful harvest. Now cooler, shorter growing season so wanted to become more familiar with how fast the soil warms up and how to position both my fiber growing bags i am trying this year and the metal raised beds i bought.so far, they do as advertise, how accurate they are i can't tell you for sure but i think accurate enough and help you get a feel for your soil temperatures and when to plant various crops, especially warm season ones like tomatoes, beans, peppers, etc.

Works fine, I did put it the frig before first use.

Received as previously open box, and off by -6 degrees. Reset and seems ok.

Needed calibrated right off the bat, but once it I did that it has worked great. Gets a fast reading, and hits the depths needed to get temp in middle of the pile. Do recommend!

Great for precise temprature timing of direct seed planting in my garden

I wanted to keep track of the ground temperature, 8-10" down, where I planted a bunch of tree seedlings. This is working well. It is sturdy made and adjusts quickly for each spot I check. I have been careful not to push it into the ground by the face. My guess is it will last many years.

Very responsive. Fast reading. I love the extra length. Good for compost and for checking soil temperature of planting.
