My teenage boys have their own PCs and don't want the other to mess with their sibling's PC, so we had to set up an HDMI switch box between two PCs and I didn't want to buy a new monitor but share the VGA monitor on the desk between them.+ Plug-n-play!I plugged the VGA into the monitor and the HDMI into the switch box, which connects with 2 other HDMI to each PC. Immediately worked!> VGA isn't as great quality as DVI or HDMI, but it's good enough, especially if you compare to tablets for watching movies or playing games. I'm glad I was able to use the HDMI to VGA to get this to work.OVERALL:It does what I expect and does it well with a nice clear picture...even with an HDMI switch box between the PCs and the monitor it still looks very good.

Adapter works perfectly
I received a new laptop from work that I'm using primarily in a home office setup. I had my former laptop plugged into an older monitor and when I received the new laptop I discovered that I didn't have the right adapter and connectors to continue using the monitor.Then, this adapter came to the rescue! Plugging easily into my VGA cable and then directly into the laptop's HDMI port took me about 30 seconds and I was immediately greeted with an excellent picture on my external monitor.Easy-to-use, well-made, and it does exactly what it needs to do.

Does what it needs to
Got this to connect my fiancee's laptop to an old monitor I had laying around for her to do grad school zoom classes with. No problems, does what it needs to.It looks really nice and the quality is high. Had no issues threading into the VGA connector posts and the HDMI connector is nice and tight.
