As a journaler, I'm always searching for paper that doesn't just hold my words, but is part of my reflection experience. This paper has been that for the last 5 months of my writing. Texture: the paper has texture to it that is pleasing, yet smooth enough to not interfere with writing on it. Thickness: it's thick! And wonderful! I like the smooth outside edge - many thick journaling papers will have rough edges for an artisan effect - this doesn't and I can easily page to the next fresh sheet. Different inks: I've used many different inks - ball point, gel, sharpie, and my favorite fountain pen and they have all taken well to the paper without bleeding. I can't remark about pencil - as I lefty, I abandoned pencil years ago. Color: creamy - but most lighter color inks show up. Binding: the sewn binding is durable - I cart my journal around, leave it upside down splayed open, close it with a pen in it, (everything we learned not to do to a book) and I've only had one stitch that came undone on one section. Smell: I know that this may be strange to some but there's a bibliophile out there who may appreciate that I've mentioned it. While the color of the paper is a bit antiqued, it has a mild, almost imperceptible, paper scent without any trace of chemical. Simply, my search for paper is done. I'll continue buying this paper for as long as I can.

Love this cotton paper - Very high quality. Fountain pens do not bleed through the pages. The texture of the paper really gets the pen flowing.

Love all things monster. Great for the leather journal, great thickness, feels so good to write on. Fits perfectly, no bleeding, and I buy these every time I run out in my journal. Super glad I bought myself the leather journal and I really like being able to just buy a refill instead of finding a new journal every time I use mine up.

I love my insert. The quality of paper is great just the first six pages didn’t have dots but in general, it’s beautiful. I also would love if it would be possible to buy a cover and choose the inserts. Paper thickness is good in general. It’s a great value for the money doesn’t have any smell and it doesn’t bleed through.

I recently purchased a Moonster leather cover with the journal insert. I'm converted. All I can say is that the paper is of good quality and my pen flows smoothly over the lined page. The A5 size is perfect for my needs. After over 35 years of journal keeping, I've finally found my forever journal! A word of caution to those buying refills: There are two refills offered on the same Amazon product page. The first is cotton and has 160 pages/80 sheets (unlined, I think?). The one that I purchased was the 'regular' paper refill with 320 pages/160 sheets. Carefully select the style that you want. This could help those complaining in some of the one star reviews.

This is a revised review. I was contacted by the company after my first review. They sent me another refill and asked me more about how the product had broken. I did notice that the spine on the new one is slightly different than the original I received, which makes me believe that it was a fluke. The cotton pages are thick and sturdy, and a delight to write on. I am very satisfied with both this paper and the leather journal. Looking forward to using them for many years. Below is my original reveiw : Let me say that upfront that the cotton pages are a dream. I got this to use instead of the unlined insert with my refillable journal made by the same company. I got both the journal and this I sent in the mail today, and I am blown away by the leather journal, but this lined insert has not lived up to my hopes. The spine has broken and a portion of the journal in the back is now falling off. I have temporarily saved it by taping it together with washi until I can order a different insert. After finding this flaw I noticed that the unlined spine is finished differently than the lined pages I have received, so maybe the unlined insert will be more sturdy, but for my use I prefer lined pages. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. Especially with the craftsmanship of the leather journal being so amazing. That this insert lasted all of 15 minutes makes me sad. Maybe I just got a fluke?
