Hayden Automotive 677 Rapid-Cool Plate and Fin Transmission Cooler

Ideally you want to monitor your transmission temp in the first place to see if you need one.After you install one you still want to monitor that temp to see if you need two.Add more cooler as needed for your use case.I found out: with one such cooler, my transmission temp is good most of the time. But on really hot days when I run autocross, my transmission temp can still reach 215F. So I am adding a second one.This is a stacked plate design, which is great at allowing fluid through without too much pressure drop (flow restriction).The caveat is: you need to either install with three corners,Or - if you use four corners, those corners MUST be perfectly flat. Otherwise you’d end up putting a twisting motion on the cooler —> and over time, that’s not good for the integrity of a stacked plate cooler.

Shipped on time, came with installation parts.Looking forward to tracking my car with additional cooling.

Installed this on my 2001 Lexus IS300 (automatic) when I swapped out my radiator. Did not come with brackets, but did have plastic mounts. It's doing great, so far. Car made a few trips around town, before the 700 mile trip from GA to LA. Transmisson stayed cool as a cucumber. No shifting problems, what so ever.

Did not come with rigid brackets as pictured (why 1 star removed) but the plastic things worked fine for my needs.Very large cooler installation was not to bad in my 2015 Honda Pilot.If you buy this or any other make sure you have extra hose. I didn't and had to go grab more which dragged the install an extra hour.Will see how this improves the temps.

This is on a 2012 Chevy Silverado and factory cooler cracked when I replaced the rusted out lines and I wanted something just a little bigger but not too big. My trans temps are probably about 10 degrees cooler however the weather has been cold so I haven't seen over 130 yet.Pretty good cooler for the price. I would recommend not using the through radiator mounts as over time they will wear holes into your radiator. I modified the factory cooler bracket to work with the Hayden cooler. Also the rubber hose they supply with the kit is trash. I had it pop off twice on me. The outside of the hose felt soft and the inner hose was starting to get stiff after only 100 miles on it. I went to Napa and bought legitimate Gates transmission cooler hose and fuel injection hose clamps. It's been trouble free ever since.

When i replaced my radiator, the atf cooling in it was bad, and leaky. I decided to just grab this vs installing another radiator.Took about 2 hours to mount, and i added a magnetic particle filter in addition to my oem one. No hard shifts even on the hottest days, no leaks and it looks great.Haven't tried towing with my crv yet, but i bought a bigger size than i needed.

It was easy to install and my transmission fluid has quit turning black. 👍🏻

First of all the hose is 11/32 and not 3/8 as others have mentioned. It was made in South Korea which is fine but again not as listed. And of course it doesn't come with any of the brackets or hardware as pictured. Just the cooler, clamps, mounting zip ties and 11/32 hose.Just wanted to put this out there in case someone was trying to do this with 5/16 or 3/8 lines for their application. It is a good product, just not represented and advertised correctly. I don't expect to have any issues with it as this is a good brand as far as quality is concerned. It just seems that this "677" model is just a misboxed 678 possibly.
