Works on Mac but awful results - avoid [UPDATE]
A review of the "VHS to Digital Converter USB 2.0 Video Converter Audio Capture Card", item B07QFVNSYJ.I followed the directions to use this on two Macs. While I was able to see the video, the results are horrible -- the video starts and stops, the audio has loud cracking noises and drops out frequently, and the audio is out of sync with the video. The device is not usable; maybe it's broken, but regardless I cannot use it and I will return it.The machines were: 2010 iMac with 12GB memory, i3, and SSD; 2018 MacBook Pro with 16GB memory, i5, and SSD. The operation of this device was identical on both machines, as I described so it is not the speed of the computer. (I also tried this on a Windows machine with similar failures.)If you want to try it for yourself, here's what you do on a Mac. 1. Connect the device to your playback device (for me, a VCR) and to the computer USB port. 2. Run QuickTime Player. File > New Movie Recording. 3. A window comes up. Select the v next to the record button, it brings up a dropdown, and from it select "AV to USB2.0" for both audio and video. At this point you can hit play on your VCR and you'll see the video. You'll see it come and go 4-5 times when the video starts. If you volume up the speaker, the playback degrades. You can also hit the red record button and record video. But the recordings are unusable (video and audio issues) -- audio loud noises, video skips, program audio drop-outs, and audio/video out of sync.As I mentioned I've used QuickTime. I also tried Camera Record-Video Recorder and Camera Recorder Lite. These record for limited time in the free version; I was able to record 30 second videos using them, and the results matched the bad results from using QuickTime player.Bottom line: Save your money, don't buy.If the seller contacts me or replaces the device with a working one, I will update this review.[UPDATE 8/12/2019]Amazon accepted my return and sent me another. Received replacement device today. Has same problems. I am returning it as well and will be seeking another device.

Great Analog/Digital Video Converter
I bought this to assist me in installing a front camera in my truck. I installed the software on Windows 10 computer. I also have it working on a 10" android tablet (Android 10) using the "USB Camera" app. I can now take the tablet, converter and camera outside to get everything lined up. The converter can display in 720 x 480 mode which makes the camera image look great on the tablet. I don't know how well the sound works since I don't have anything to test on that input.

It works but Image quality is pretty poor and the include software is awkward to use
Bargain price for $12 bucks and it does what is claimed in the ad but resolution is pretty poor and the supplied software, both mini DVD and printed, is not very useful. I'm using it to display high resolution from an analog camera (S video) on a laptop computer. I get grainy, fuzzy images with low color intensity. I've been looking for better software to display USB images but most of the available software doesn't seem to recognize the video signal on the USB port. Other USB cameras seem to work normally. I'll keep looking for better software from other sources hope that will produce better image quality.

Works well if plugged directly into USB port
This USB capture device works great. Software is easy to use and figure out. The only problem I ran into is that if you connect this device using the supplied thin USB extender cable, it will not work in the VHS capture software supplied by this package. No reason it doesn't work, but it would not for me. If I opened the default windows 10 video player, it would work with the USB extender cable and show the video playing from the VHS player, but never worked in the software provided and was made for. HOWEVER, if I plugged this device straight into the computer without the extender cable, it worked just as it was designed in the software. I did 100s of hours of VHS tapes with this thing. Maybe my extender cable was bad, but it was odd that it would show in the Windows video with the thin extender cable and not the actual software it was made for.

It works as advertised
The product works great, simple to install and transfer VCR tapes to DVD. I use windows 10 on my desktop computer and had this little gem up and working in about 15 minutes, no problems except for the screen quality which can be written off due to the age of the tape and transfer to a digital realm. For the price, it is an exceptional item to buy and transfer your movies or memories.
