Baby Love - Good book to buy
This is a good book to read if you are a first mum. Recommended to read and obtain good counsel.

The ultimate baby "handbook"
My son is now 10 months old and since he was born, Baby Love has been on my living room table for easy quick reference. I have used this book as my "handbook" (as much as there can be one for newborns!). Robin Barker provides practical information on almost every question I have had (and there have been lots!) and presents this information in an easy-to-follow manner. One of the best things about her style is that she does not preach and she acknowledges the realities of being a mom. She presents a variety of options for many situations and allows the reader to make the best choice for them and their baby without adding guilt, which, as moms, we get more than enough of on our own! I truly recommend this book to any mom, but especially first time moms - it really will help you through that first year!

Your babies missing owners manual
If you are having a baby then buy this book! I recommend it to all my expecting friends as I think it is THE BEST BOOK out there. If you have a question, then a quick look on the index will normally tell you which pages to check out and 99% of the time you'll find the answer. "Is it normal for my baby to hiccup this much?" was one I had (the answer was yes by the way). "Why is my baby sneezing so much?" was another (it's the way babies clear their nose because they obviously can't pick it). I don't know what I would have done without this book!

felt like I was reading something from the 60s
I found the comments around child care and mothers returning to work in this book to be outdated, offensive and upsetting. Time to catch up with the real world and remove the implications about people just wanting a higher standard of living or mothers just wanting to return to work should reconsider. Very outdated, felt like I was reading something from the 60s.

thank goodness I found this book
This is easily the best source book I've found for a first timer like myself. Sensible, flexible AND realistic, Robin Barker acknowledges that sometimes there isn't a solution to a situation and instead suggests options for managing sleep, feeding and a bunch of other mysterious baby behaviours - I haven't come up with a question that this book doesn't answer yet. I wish I'd had it before I gave birth - i might have saved myself some stress by just getting on with things instead of worrying about my little one not following an arbitrary schedule.

great baby bible
This book came recommended and i am so pleased it did! It's an easy read cover to cover but also a fabulous reference book, with one of the most comprehensive indexes i have found (in baby books). Like most things Australian this book is practical, straight forward and practical and tells the facts as they are.A must for all practical parents, those to be, and any other carers such as Grandparents.I have recommended this book to my mothers group and it lives on my bedside table.

"Must have" for all new mothers
This is THE BEST BABY BOOK ever. I had my baby 18 years ago and it was fabulous back then and it's still relevant today. Must have for all expectant mothers.

Fantastic, balanced
Fantastic, balanced, sensible, supportive baby book (for first year). My sister bought me this book, and it was my best baby book by far. I've bought it for several of my friends having their first baby, and they've all loved it. Highly recommended.

Average
Not a bad read however definitely not rocket science. I haven’t come away with much that isn’t just common sense or that I didn’t already know! Pretty much everything can be easily found elsewhere e.g. online, discussion boards, social media etc!

Good reference book
A friend recommended this book to me. It is a good reference book. Some of the advise I have read before in other publications. I found first time parent and much easier read and even had pictures!

Brilliant!
Love this book. Bought this as a gift for a friend as I received it as a gift. It was our first stop whenever we had a mystery moment from our son, ruined out to be our 'user guide'!The Mighty Toddler is just as good.
