It's a shammy, does a great job of keeping you cool. it does stiffen back up when it dries so put it away neatly or it becomes a bit difficult.

Cools but not too close to neck side
It's convenient for hard hats, and definetly as a shade cooling towel, but I would complement it with the towel as well.

Great fit in any hard hat
Great fit. Just needs to be softened up for every day use. It’s a little stiff.

Excellent- Has an edge over the Miracool
I purchased these and the Miracool hard hat neck shades. The miracool put the absorbent material on the top of the head with a fabric shade. When it is soaked in water, it felt great but it lifted the hat too high on my head. This model just hangs from the back of the suspension system. So, it does not affect fit. It also has just enough stiffness to stay in place and shade the entire neck. The 4 velcro fastening tabs also help it stay where it is supposed to be. But, if you;re short-necked, you'll find you need to keep it wet to keep your hat on as the material is stiff enough when dry to force your hat off when you move your shoulders. That is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. With the high-visibility yellow fabric on the outside, this would be nice to wear in the late fall when sun is still an issue when working on a road but it is not as hot. Otherwise, it is a great product.

Stiff as a board when dry
I’m sure it works great if you leave it damp but I wanted it for sunshade not cooling. I should of read the description better.

I bought this for my husband who works outside and has to wear a hard hat. He loved it so much I had to buy 2 more for him.

Stupid. It's essentially cardboard unless wet. So if you're looking for just a neck shade, this is not it.

bought this for my dad as he works outside often. It does not attach well to the hard hat liner and does not work as well as the others he has tried.

Pretty good thing to have for the summer, wasn't expecting it to be super ridgid when it's dry, but it's amazing when soaked in cold water, hugs your neck and keeps it cool
