18" x 6" (Natural Gas) Fire Pit and Fireplace H-Burner (304 Series SS) w/Connection Kit

The Product:Very high quality product. The pipe used to make the burner is very thick as described. The pipe is beautifully polished to a mirror shine. Just as described, holes on the burner are drilled, not punched, to reduce the whistle effect. Be advised though, you will still get the "whistle" noise when you turn the gas too high to the point that's too much fire for the fireplace itself. I think that just the way all gas burners are.Installation:Product came with a very clear written instruction. Very easy to install. Just carefully read and follow the instruction. The only trouble you might have is bending the included flexible gas hose. Be patient with it. Take your time on planning the bends, position the burner to the center of your fireplace. To install it, you only need 2 wrenches and YELLOW Teflon gas sealing tape or use the liquid version.To save some money, I used 30 lb. of cheaper flat round fire glasses to put in the bottom as a base to pad up the broken reflective glasses. Then I mixed 20 lb. of light blue and 10 lb. of gold reflective glasses and spread them on top of the flat round fire glasses.I bought this burner kit as a gift to my sister alone with some light blue and gold reflective fire glasses. It turned out beautiful. See the picture I uploaded. The actual result is a lot better than the picture due to under exposure of the glasses caused by photographying the fire. Her entire family and friends loved the effect. Now friends started to ask me to help them setup their fireplace the same way.Highly recommended.

I now have 5 months of use on this burner. It has performed well. There is a little bit of noise at higher flow rates that I attribute to the flow rather than a "hissing". The flames are uniform along the length and have been even over several hours of use. The installation was easy and Starfire's customer support staff responded promptly and thoroughly to a question I had after installation.

Good quality works as expected. Easy installation. Gives my fireplace a minimalist look with nice abundant flames.Downs: too noisy. A noisy whistling sound comes out when operating

Fantastic idea by or general contractor as we were going through a major remodel of our kitchen, two bathrooms, a powder room and garden window.He suggested to update our 25+ year old fake wood looking gas fireplace to a modern glass look with the H-burner for $250 labor plus cost of parts.As you can see from the photos it’s worth it.$50 for this H-burner and another $50 for 20lbs of two types of glass.Great upgrade for very little work and money.

Fit perfect in my fireplace and works as expected.

Great double burner, puts out a lot of heat. The flexible hose does not whistle but on full high you can hear gas going through the pipe, sounds like water through a pipe, it’s noticeable but only if you know what you are listening for. But in all honesty at full bore this thing is putting out a flame 3 feet tall so we never have it at more than 50% and that still puts out a lot of heat. Tip- move the lava rocks/ fake logs around until you get the burn pattern that you want. I had a weird flame pattern at first because of the way the logs were stacked, not because of the burner.

The h line is a nice element for putting out more flame in a fire pit. We were told by the first installer that the piece was defective and it caused whistling, but after further review, turns out it was the gas line ran to the area. All fixed and it works perfectly.

This item is well built, looks good, makes a good flame. However, it does whistle after the gas is turned up past a certain level. Some research online showed this to be caused by the cheap flexible hose that was included, not the H burner itself. I was able to fix this by buying and adding a generous helping of glowing embers (rock wool). When I turn down the gas level to right where it doesn't whistle, the wool actually helps to make the flames bigger and achieves the level I want without the noise. For a premium price that this product charges, I think a premium hose that reduces whistle noise would have made this product deserve a high rating.
