Pulsar by Seiko Holdings Corporation. A spectacular breakthrough Pulsar was born in an age of optimism. In the 1970's, everything seemed achievable through the rapidly growing technological expertise at the world's fingertips. Space flight had been converted from dream to reality, computer science was developing at break neck speed and electronics seemed to deliver new advances every day. Pulsar symbolized the age. It was new and it was bold, it was surprising and it was different. Pulsar, the world's first electronic digital watch, created a sensation when it was unveiled in New York in 1972 and it changed the world's perception of time. A tradition of difference When the brand was taken into the Seiko Corporation in 1980, it brought further surprises to the world; the first calculator watch in 1980 and the first all-quartz watch line in 1981 were among its industry-leading achievements. And throughout the '80's and 90's Pulsar continued to bring to market new products that were born to be different. The Avant-garde collection in 1980's set a new style in women's watches and Spoon in 1990's were unique designs which further cemented Pulsar's image as an ingenious and surprising watchmaker. Towards a modernist future Today, Pulsar remains loyal to its heritage. It was born to be different and it will remain so. Each Pulsar watch has the hint of the futurism and modernity that have always been its hallmark. Pulsar is a brand for the individual who appreciates real value and seeks quality with individuality and flair. Pulsar World Time Alarm Chronograph. Looks and feels like a quality product
One feature not listed is the ability of this watch to operate in a 24 hour display mode; since I worked in a number of jobs related to the criminal justice system, I am acclimated to using a 24 hour clock (often erroneously referred to as "military time"). I did replace the band with a similar band from a gen 2 SEIKO "Monster" watch. I had a Seiko "sports 100" digital watch I received as a X-Mas gift in 1983. It ran flawlessly until 1995, when a teenage clerk at a "Mart" store replaced the battery and incorrectly installed the seal gasket for the back, thus allowing water to enter the mechanism and destroy the circuitry. According to the owner's manual for the Pulsar pw3001, the LCD display has a life span of +/- 7 years, at which time it can be replaced by a authorized dealer. The instructions are a bit confusing, but if you get past them, programing the watch is very intuitive. Looks and feels like a quality product, and recalls my feelings of pride for my cherished Seiko from 1983. For the price: unbeatable.

good lighting. Watches are not waterproof as it is ...
The display reads well, good lighting. Watches are not waterproof as it is written on them. After immersion in water, condensation inside. The inscription on the case about the water resistance of 10 atmospheres - lie :)))

Superb digital by Pulsar
This is just pure space 1999 total 70’s vibe. It’s a heavy and chunky watch for a digital, but love chunky watch’s. Very comfortable, the light glows a cool blue when activated. Fits wrist nicely from lug to lug. I have a 7” wrist. Popped a NATO on mine. The rubber strap is very comfortable. If you want one you better pick one up very hard to find. I wanted the 3002 model which is black. Not to be found. Pulsar is owned by Seiko I believe. Easy to maintain and will take a beating. Must for any watch collection.

Not the best for thin wrists
While I like the looks of this watch, I don't like the way it twists on my wrist. I have thin wrists so this is a bulky watch for me and it tends to skew while I am wearing it.

excellent watch, just replace band
i've wrote review for Pulsar PW3003 some time ago. this watch is completely similar except for the color. the same pros and the same cons.+ eye-catching design;+ almost perfect inversed screen with excellent visibility;+ decent functionality, easy and logical 5-buttons control;+ good size, neither small no too large;- watch strap is really bad (i have pw3003 so i knew about this). it is better to wear with 20mm nato/zulu strap. and steel bracelet is the best choice for this watch. please pay your attention - you have to find bracelet for "fat" 2.5mm spring bars.

Just the looks is enough for me.
I purchase this watch mainly for the looks. It’s awesome and the metal is shiny and looks very well made. I honestly don’t care much about the functions as long as I can see the time, date and use the alarm. If I’m looking for laps, memory and other usage, I will buy the latest digital watch. My reason is mainly for the retro look and the uniqueness of this watch.
