best one yet
I'd say I'm a challenge. I have wispy, thinning asian hair that is about 4 inches at its longest and I need it to have some lift. I've tried the cheap off-the-shelf products from Old Spice, Garnier, Loreal, Suave, Axe. None were good enough. Then I tried the more expensive brands like Pete and Pedro and Black Ship. I'll bet this is a common theme for a lot of guys. None of them are the complete package of strong hold, matte finish, low odor, and washability. But this amazing Muk in the red tin checks all those boxes. Actually this goes beyond strong hold. In 100 degree summer humidity it loses its crispness but still hold up really well. It recently starting raining and all I had to do was rake my fingers through my hair and it held up well after drying. All around great -- just set it and leave it alone through the day. As others have said, it's smells of citrus but it's not strong and really goes away after maybe 90 minutes. Washes easily. Looks dry. Some other reviews mention white streaks but I can only guess they use way too much. I only use half of a cubic centimeter. The only minor issue is how hard it is to smear/emulsify. I find that damp, but not wet, hands make it a bit easier to smear and apply evenly. I've been using it for 3 months and about a third remains. This may be a bit pricey, but in the end it's only pennies a day.

Great for thinning hair combined with hair fibers
I have extremely thin hair, to the point where if it's not styled, you see mostly just scalp. This is the only product I've found that allows me to style my hair the way I want it, without weighing it down and making it flat like all the other products I've used, and it's also incredibly strong. I combine this with hair fibers and a bit of hair spray afterwards to hold the fibers in place and it totally transforms my appearance. Eventually I'll shave my whole head, but until then, this has been a game changer.

Great product.
Great stuff! Sturdy hold, yet washes right out. My hair is stiff and determined to go a certain way. It takes a good product to force it to stand up and still look effortless. If you use the right amount, hair just looks healthy and sculpted. If you over-product it, it can look a bit greasy. My advice is use less and add as needed. I also try to spread it all over, lifting at the roots, then pushing it into the shape I want.I don't have a spike do or anything. I just have a pixie cut, but I need the strongest hold possible... and ideally one that doesn't require 3 washes to come out. Bingo! This does it for a fair price. My only complaint might be that my hair sort of melts by the end of the day. I guess my head heat turns the muk into soft oil by the end of the day. It still holds... till I touch it, then it starts to flop. I and my hair sort collapse after 5pm. On someone colder, it might work well into the night. For me, though, this works. If I really wanted to go out at night, I'd want another shower anyway.

Great product - it's what I've been using every day for over a year
I've used this every day for a while now, and I really like it. I have very thick hair, and I don't usually have a problem with the hold of the product. Application of the mud is easy (though your hair should be pretty much dry - slightly damp is alright, but anything more than that and it doesn't hold until your hair dries); an amount slightly larger than a pea is usually all that's required (unless my hair gets longer than ~3-4 inches, in which case I use slightly more). I like how the product remains malleable until it's rinsed out (which is very easy to do unlike some other muds). The only thing I would say is that if you're sweating a lot (e.g. on a run or in the gym), this loses a little hold. The flip side of this is that it's easy to wash out.

Bad product, nice smell
Product came very hard, not at all like it appears in a video I found of how to use the product. Can barely scrape it out of the tin, much less try to “emulsify” in your hands.Smells nice.

Good but inconsistent
I've been using this hair product for 2 years now. When the product works like it should, you need to use very little and it goes a long way. Always towards the end of the product, the product dries up excessively so it takes more effort or i just throw it in the trash. I like that it washes out very easily at the end of the day too. The hold is great for the duration. Gets somewhat re-activated with some light water. The Bad:-There was one time about halfway to end of the product, I would find solid crystal like pieces all over the product. When I would massage it in my hand before using it was similar to that of salt. I would have to manually remove each of these solid pieces so I dont have to end up looking I have lice in my hair. At that point it was past Amazon's return policy so I just got fed up with it and ordered a new one. That way I wouldnt have to manually seperate it every day. It was annoying.-Today I just ordered another refill and it was my first day using this product. From the get go, there was these solid pieces but this time they were a hybrid rubbery texture. I decided to just continuing rubbing into my fingertips hoping it would dissolve. When I put it in my hair, it looks like I had lice.I like the product so I'll give it one more try. If it happens again, I'm looking for a new one.
