I’m not sure of the quality yet. I put 2 coats on using a common pump sprayer. It’s very thin. I would suggest tarping and taping around it if there’s anything you don’t want it on. It was rated very highly from my research for cedar care. I have high hopes. It is supposed to be reapplied after a few years after initial 2 coats

No termite damage after years!
Built a new redwood fence in long beach ca, sprayed both sides w Cedarcide. I’ve literally seen termites that were swarming crawling on the surface but never entered the wood. Our house addition is full of them, but not the fence!! It has been over 5 years, not a single termite!!

I don’t believe that it worked
I sprayed this stuff on some brand new cedar. It rained the next week and a week later it had the beginning of the black streaks that appear on cedar. I didn’t trust it so I sprayed with oil based Polyurethane. Love it now. Not sure about cedar shield.

Does just what it's supposed to do.
I've been using this for years. It's good for all it claims to be, with one exception; putting it on the pet's fur!They lick too much of it up, which has unfavorable results, probably due to the natural oil base and the fact that it has to go all over as opposed to those solutions designed to avoid it, only needing a small amount at the back of the neck.I love it myself, though. Cedar is a lively scent. The oil base isn't overly messy, as it rubs in with little effort.Gardening, mosquitos, meet your MATCH!

Great product and great service
I read that you can use this product to dry out treated lumber quickly (72 hours) without having to wait months to stain. I took a chance and bought a gallon to see how it performed. It worked great! I was able to stain the lumber in 3 days and use it in my deck. And I have added protection for my wood. I ordered 2 more gallons and they arrived the next day! Great product and great service!
