A Whole New World of Socks!
I have not yet made any of the socks in this book, but only because I can't decide which to knit first. I'm an experienced sock knitter but just reading through these patterns has enlarged my understanding of sock construction. Knitting them will take me far beyond the ordinary. Each pattern is beautifully presented with several color photos, detailed charts and diagrams and clear instructions. Thanks, Ann Budd, for assembling this new adventure!

These are NOT your grandmother's socks!
This is a great book and has some really REALLY interesting sock patterns in it. Who knew that there were so many interesting ways to make a sock for the human foot! This book is not for beginning sock makers, imho, but it sure is a lot of fun to read and look at. I do hope to be able to make a sock or two from this book soon. Really, this is a must have if you love knitting socks.

Outstanding! Exactly what I hoped for.
I wanted to knit socks using different construction techniques but I'm not experienced enough to invent my own method. Every sock pattern in his book constructs socks differently than the old stand-by sock recipes. The book is beautiful. I hope I can follow these awesome patterns. They're all very unique.

Inspiring, fun, interesting - a terrific sock book
Inspiration for a jaded sock knitter! A few years ago I went on a sock knitting binge making 50+ pairs before burning out. This wonderful book has lured me back in and I have already completed two of the designs - Enduring Stripes by Cat Bordhi (finally finding a use for some insipid pale pink sock yarn purchased on sale) and U-Turn by General Hogbuffer. An enjoyable change for all levels of sock knitters.

Great book. Interesting designs.
I love knitting and I love wool socks in the winter. I was intrigued by the unusual constructions in this book and couldn't wait to get it. I've finished my first sock and it worked perfectly. What a joy to have new techniques to learn. Great book. Interesting designs. What more could you ask for?

Innovative sock knitting for experienced knitters
Great book but not for beginners. The sock designs here push the knitter in various directions, such as knitting 2 socks at the same time, doing varying ways to turn the heel or just totally changing the way a sock is knit. Great pictures, good directions, great for those who really want to take their sock knitting to another level.

Brilliant but not for beginners
Amazing patterns. Some very unconventional not just toe up or top down. Some work better than others. I wouldn't suggest this for beginners at socks more for those who are bored with having knitted many pairs because some patterns you need to be able to spot what will look right or if you want to adapt size you might need the experience to know how a sock is constructed to do this

There is something for every sock knitter in this inspiring collection! From top down to toe up and some very unusual starting points this great collection of patterns will keep one interested from cover to cover. I started with U-Turn designed by General Hogbuffer and I am starting the second sock and I'm still motivated and captivated ! This is a is great addition to my sock knitting library and sure to become a favourite book to reach for again and again and again!

A great book.
I liked this book but rather liked the author's previous one to this better. I felt that the patterns were nice but many I perhaps would not make. Ann's first book introduced me to basic sock knitting and I have used it time and time again over the years.
