When a 5G antenna came on line our TV picture was ruined. This fixed it straight away.
The media could not be loaded. We've long had issues getting the strongest TV signal to our house. We live in a suburban area, in amongst a number of very tall trees in the neighbourhood that, depending on the weather conditions, can play havok with our TV picture. We live in Derby which is about equidistant between the East Midlands transmitter at Waltham (28.3 miles away) and the West Midlands transmitter at Sutton Coldfield (27.9 miles away). Ideally we'd want the East Midlands transmitter as Derby generally features on the East Midlands news/sport programmes. We're on to our third TV aerial since we moved here 10 years ago, the first two pointing towards Waltham but would always be at the mercy of the swaying trees as to whether we got a stable picture. About four years ago we had a new aerial fitted, a pretty substantial thing that we decided to have point towards Sutton Coldfield. For four years it's been excellent, and with the digital signal we can actually choose if we want East or West Midlands news anyway. All was good. And then, just before Christmas at some point, the TV picture started breaking up again. There had been a few storms and high winds in the run up, so we put it down to the weather. I inspected the aerial from ground level against photos I'd previously taken and it seemed to be in the same place (Although we live in a detached house the aerial is fitted in an awkward spot which requires a ladder to be placed in the elderly neighbours garden to get a safe angle of attack, so we try to avoid accessing the aerial where possible). We decided to wait it out and hope the problem went away, as we don't actually watch much live TV anyway, favouring catch-up and streaming services. Now well into January the problem has continued. TV programmes on all channels, not just historically weak ones, were breaking up. It made watching live TV practically unbearable. I wondered if maybe the 4-way booster box we have in the loft to split the incoming aerial input into four TVs around the house may be life-expired. We'd had it ten years so maybe that was at fault? I bought a new version from Amazon with 4G interference filtering, and while it appeared to improve the signal, it was still breaking up and I wasn't satisfied that this was the ultimate solution. And then I was in the garden one evening playing with the dog, and my gaze fell upon something I have seen multiple times every day of my life for over a year. Close to where I live we have had a 5G antenna installed. A huge great thing that has been there at least a year, and you can see it from our garden. Looking on Google Earth it's 287 metres away. I don't mind the aeriel as it's a necessary evil for 5G mobile communications. I accept that and don't have an issue with it. As it's been there so long I hadn't even given it a thought. But, as I stood there in the garden I looked up at the roof of my house at our TV aerial and realised that it was pointing almost straigh at it. Not quite exactly, but very close. Within 2-3 degrees of the antenna's direction, as shown on my attached video. And this got me wondering if the antenna has been there all that time, but only got commissioned in the run up to Christmas. Could that be it?I did a bit of research and found that 5G antennas can be responsible for TV signal break-ups. And the 4G filter that was in my new TV booster splitter would have no effect as it's a different frequency entirely. In fact, I found that the booster box, necessary to get any kind of TV signal to our house, could even take the 5G signal and boost that as well causing increased interferrence.Oh. So, I needed a 5G filter as well. I began looking on Amazon, and there weren't many to choose from. I wasn't overly convinced on what reviews of the few products available were telling me. I wasn't getting assurances that this kind of product would do what I wanted it to do.The filter came within a few days and I headed straight up to the loft to fit it to my recently purchased booster splitter. It's very simple to fit, merely a case of daisy chaining it between the incoming aerial cable and the splitter box. I headed downstairs and waited for the TV signal to break up.But it didn't. On all of the four TVs plugged in to the splitter box, the picture was perfect. Not one bit of break up at all. I am absolutely delighted by the performance of the filter, and it's done just what I wanted it to do.Now, remember, this is just a 5G filter. I'm using it in conjunction with a new TV aerial booster with a built-in 4G filter, so I'm effectively covering all bases with two products, not just this filter. But, if you've recently lost picture quality then it could just be that there's a new 5G antenna in your area that has come on line. And this 5G filter might just be the answer.

5G Ariel Filter
There's not a problem with the filter but I do have an issue with the flats as they block tv signal. Is a lot worse without filter.

Totally useless
After years of perfect signal for a few months I've had increasing picture breakup seemingly linked to signal strength decrease and bit error increase. This coincided with recent upgrades to nearby mobile phone transmitters, so I decided adding a filter was worth a try, how wrong I was.Prior to installing this I had 53 channels, signal strengths varied from 50-70% with error rates of 4-6. After adding this filter and retuning (which took over 10 minutes to complete) I had 27 channels, the majority of which were radio stations, and of theses almost all showed weak or no signal. The signal on a selection of these was now 20-30% with the error rate constantly 8-10. Of the TV channels that were found, these were Freeview only, all BBC, ITV, C4 and Channel 5 were completely missing.Clearly in my use case this filter only reduced the signal and does nothing to remove interference.

Not great.
This item worked for a day or two but the tv interference has come back. I have be quite disappointed with this item as I thought it would fix the problem as tv interference spoils viewing enjoyment.

Didn't make any difference to my particular problem
We have Freeview picture break-up and channel drop-out. I bought this in the hope that the problem was a 5G interference. However it didn't help and I now think that our problem is more related to new buildings between the transmitter and our house and/or the roof aerial has moved out of alignment in the wind.
