Charlie Higson's Young Bond books are truly wonderful. Unfortunately someone named Steve Cole was handed the reins to continue the series and they are absolutely horrible. Unreadable, in fact. I forced myself to finish the first one and really tried to read the second but gave up pretty quickly. Just couldn't do it. But by all means read Higson's.
