Carrera 30369 App Connect Accessory Compatible with Digital 132 and 124 Slot car Race Tracks

Works fantastic, no issues

This was a game changer. Being able to use the available apps for racing is elite level racing. Hearing announcements on who is in the lead, who needs fuel and pit stop sounds makes slot car racing AWESOME. This makes racing so much more fun. When I turned on the app (there are free open source apps or ones that you buy extra) the racers lit up and said WHAT is THAT?? As far as value for the money, that is questionable because really in this day and age it should be included with the rce sets being the race sets are pretty expensive. That being said I'd buy it again and again because it isn't included with any set and it adds so much to the racing experience. The apps will not work unless you are wired into a PC or if you use this and a cell phone. It just snaps in like a phone line cord does. Easy Peasy to install and use. It's Carrera so it's quality. That is why I bought into their system originally. They make great stuff.

Maybe I'll revisit this review if Carrera ever gets back to me with a fix. So far I can't get any device to connect to the unit. Tried 2 iphones , 2 samsung and an iPad. Not will connect and stay connected. it connects for a second then loses connection. I tried using the Carrera App, Smart race and Open Lap. They all do the same thing. Connect/Disconnect over and over. If I connect the device directly though the bluetooth settings the device stays connected and the light stays solid blue. In the Carrera app it gets to the update and then tries to download and lasts for 1 second then back to disconnect. rinse and repeat. I'll give Carrera a few days to respond before it goes back. I tried for a couple days using all google/youtube searches I could find and no help. Only thing that lead to is info that it possibly being the control unit and not the actual adapter. Something about manufacturing date and current firmware. But since I cant connect at all i have no way to find current firmware. Buyer Beware for now Update: I forgot to update this back in the day. Carrera did send me a new unit. I don’t quite remember what the issue was but something about compatibility with the newer set I had. They made it right pretty quick though

You really should consider buying 2 different sets (One wired, and one wireless is what we did). You get such a huge value from buying a set vs. buying pieces seperately. We are having a blast with these. The lane changes (ACTUAL LANE CHANGES, NOT just 'crossovers') make this so much better than anything we ever played with as kids. The Cars appear to be nearly bullet proof, except that the rear spoilers, and mirrors pop off when they fly off the track. One thing to consider: they need space. I bought 2 4x8 sheets of plywood, and cut them each down to 3'x8', then just taped them on the dining room table (promising my wife we would take it down in the spring), we also cut one of the leftover pieces down to 1'x6', so now we have a multi-level track that has 3 lane changes, and covers 6'x9'. I would also suggest saving pieces of cardboard to make the turns a little banked, as this helps keep the cars on the track. WHAT A BLAST!

This product is as advertised and seems to be working fine for my application.

Awesome...speaks to my Android phone and runs with an app that controls my fuel and settings and race lap times. Easy to use with Bluetooth connection.

Works very good , but not with the free app that comes with it. If you want serious fun you must pay another 15$ to download "carrera digital race management Smartrace on the playstore.
