Vegetarian approved! I **LOVE** this product!
I was a bit leery to purchase due to all the negative reviews. I’ve never seen a product with such biased reviews on both ends of the spectrum! They’re all over the place. I just received my black Caviart today, and I absolutely LOVE it! A full breakdown:*First impresssion, the size of the container is generous, when comparing to my usual grocery store shelf (real) caviar. I like the premium quality looking packaging of this as well, it’s very appealing.*Opening the container, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the product is NOT liquidy as some reviewers mentioned. Just like real caviar, it’s a solid product. Visual appeal, this looks like the real thing.*Aroma: there is no chemical smell as another reviewer insinuated. It doesn’t smell awkward or bad.*Solidarity: scooped just as I would real caviar, and it holds it shape very nicely. Perfect little “eggs” that are uniform in shape.*Taste: here’s the real test! Perfect little “eggs” that feel pleasant on the palate (very nice smooth texture!), that gently *pop* with a pleasant lightly salted flavor. No weird aftertaste.*Final thoughts: I LOVE this product, even better than the real thing, and I HIGHLY recommend it! This is not a novelty product, it is an amazing substitute to a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I’m absolutely amazed at how some of these companies put out such fantastic flavorful plant based products that are so similar, if not better, than the real thing.

Not the outcome I expected.
I was excited to get the item and actually enjoyed the taste even though it was a tad bit salty, but I'm pretty sure it gave me food poisoning and I wasn't able to hold anything down for days after eating it including Thanksgiving. I will not buy again. Had to throw the rest away.

Great alternative to roe or caviar
I gave this 5 stars partly based on my expectations, never having tried a vegetarian/seaweed "caviar" before, and real roe or caviar have been rare things in my life - but I loved every morsel I've ever had. Finding a good fish-friendly eco-friendly alternative is not easy and CaviArt really does succeed. I will definitely be buying it again. If you are expecting exactly the same as fish roe, you might find this product less salty and with less of that distinctive fresh ocean umami. It does have a great fresh taste and texture very close to caviar, just not quite as intense.I have eaten it with salmon steaks, chopped boiled eggs, and even with a bit of brie on crackers. I am sure it will go well with lots of other dishes. I think it's actually more flexible than real roe because it's not quite as intense in flavor. Can be overwhelmed though - sour cream with the chopped eggs was too much for it.Overall I am soo happy to have found something that really reminds me of eating fish roe when I was much younger, but without all the issues of how roe is harvested etc.

Much better than expected
The "eggs" ARE firm and not nearly as salty as many reviews in here complain about. They're not mushy or over powering in any way. I like them, much better than expected and I expected the worst from the reviews but decided to see for myself and am glad I gave them a try. I'm not a vegan but if they can produce seaweed caviar that's as close to the real thing as this for much less I'm all in.I expected an inferior mushy, extremely salty and wet cheap product from reading the reviews but from my end they were all wrong. I'll definitely be buying more of this

Would not buy again
Not bad but not a hit with guests.

pretty good and helps curb a craving for caviar.
For what it is, what it’s not (real caviar) and what it costs- this is actually pretty good and helps curb a craving for caviar. It’s really “crunchy” almost like Tobiko. Not as salty as some others but the lack of dyes in it- worth the trade off. Honestly don’t think you could say anything bad about this if you’ve had caviar, know you like caviar, and want something as a trade off for the price. It does NOT taste like true caviar but again- curbs a craving.

Very small, rubber texture
The Caviar arrived in good shape, however that is where to good part of this review ends. The caviar beads while its supposed to be made of seaweed has no caviar smell, are very small, its size is closer to roe than caviar. The color is jet black similar to lumpfish caviar; texture is like small rubber balls. The taste salty (of course all caviar is). There was no caviar like pop when chewed. Basically, I was curious, now that curiosity has be replaced with skepticism. I will try others before I give up, but I cannot recommend this particular product.

Pretty good for what it is
I tend to fixate on things briefly and lately it was caviar. So I bought several items including this. The taste is nice. It's not too salty for me and gives a little crunch when I chew. I did put a little in my mouth and swish saliva to get rid of the liquid and it tasted significantly less of anything. Maybe a little seaweed. One important thing that someone buying should know is this product doesn't have a pop of liquid like proper caviar. They are little solid spheres that do give a little crunch. All in all, I'm very happy with this product. I wouldn't use this as a caviar itself, but I could see it as a garnish.
