Really nice. Fairly quiet
Really nice. Fairly quiet. The only unit I've seen that can really be turned way down or high enough to put out a good stream. I am completely happy with this in my bedroom

The smallest moisturizing friend for the air we breathe
THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE PERSONAL SIZE MODEL THAT RUNS ON A WATER BOTTLE. Small is the operative word, but it works like its bigger brothers. The footprint is 4 inches by 5 inches. It immediately starts spewing cool vapor from its turnable spout, when it is turned on, and adjusts easily from no-vapor to lots. Instead of having any kind of tank, you use a typical personal-size water bottle. For my test, I used a bottle of Niagara-brand water which has a half-depth cap and flimsy sides. The short neck was no problem--just pushed it on the adapter, got a perfect seal, upended the bottle, turned it own, and away it worked. While a personal water bottle will not run forever, I like knowing the exact age of the opened bottle of water in the little machine. This helps keep 'old' water from being present to possibly grow any kind of mold. (My mother sickened once years ago with that situation.)The little device is very quiet--about like an electric clock. I am sitting about six feet away, and I can definitely tell it is changing the air. It will be perfect near a bed or chair, where one family needs some extra humidification without turning the whole house into the tropics. There is no reason to use a new bottle of bought water, either, every time. One can easily refill an empty bottle with filtered water from the fridge door, or distilled water from a larger jug, or just plain tap.

I'm surprised to find myself impressed by the "Personal Travel" model of this humidifier.
This is the personal/travel model - I was surprised to see that it has no tank at all - you fill it by attaching a 20oz bottle of water. This is a smart design that allows you to take advantage of clean refrigerated water to create an instantaneous cool mist to humidify an area. Set-up is very simple and the entire machine moves around very easily. I would caution folks against refilling these plastic bottles too often as they build up nasty germs that can cause problems - you shouldn't think of it as sterile water if you're refilling the bottles. It seems that a little goes a long way. Operation is near silent. You can direct the spout to direct the vapor in any direction you require. There is a single control switch that allows you to turn up the volume of the output or turn off the machine. Because there is no tank to keep clean, you just have to worry about keeping the base and fixtures cleaned up. It would be nice if it came with a travel bag so that you don't lose the nozzle and tube fitting.

Well made humidifier
This is an excellent single room humidifier, and the drip sound reported by other reviewers is not that loud. It lasts for an entire night and prevents nosebleeds in the dry winter air.

Sort of disappointed
This review is for the travel version. It's just OK. I travel a lot and in places like Chicago and Denver in the winter hotel rooms are perfect for dry-air bloody noses. So I was excited about getting a travel humidifier. But once I plugged it in I wasn't so excited. The output is not going to make your dry hotel room any better. It's not very good at all. Even when you leave it on high and use a large water bottle this unit still struggles to make a hotel room comfortable.
