These are pretty big, but if you wrap the base of your stem plant bunch in filter floss, it works very well.

Updating my previous reviewThese weight are GREAT!The size is perfect, I was able to glue on two Java Ferns on each side of the ring and I put down a rock inside it to make sure my very active lion head gold fish won’t dig it outI would buy more but it’s unavailable right now.And of course I am still bitter that I got only 2 unbroken rings our of 5 I orderedPlease wrap each weight separately to make sure people will get all of them.The product seems okay, except two out of five rings was broken :-(I don’t know who’s fault is this but for the future reference each ring should be wrapped separately because apparently it’s very fragile.

I got them to hold down little potted plants in my aquarium and they worked perfectly .

These are pretty large so they will only work on large plants like Anubis or moss balls. Will not hold stem plants down. They look nice holding my moss balls from running all over though.

I used these ceramic rings, along with clear nylon fishing line, to weigh down my faux lily pads so they don't blow away. They worked perfectly- I just poked a hole in the lily pads, tied the ends of the fishing line around the rings, and done!I'm glad that they don't have any unnecessary coatings or other things that might make them unsafe for fish and other aquatic life. The ridges are a great way to keep my fishing line in place, and probably even a spot to allow for beneficial bacteria to grow!
