4 Pack Egg Poachers

Stand up on their own
I've had silicone egg poachers before but I love the innovation of these so they can stand up on their own on the work surface. You put a drop of oil in and then close the poacher, rubbing it so the whole of the insides get a thin coating. Drop it into the pan and bring the water to the boil. Crack an egg and break it into the floating mould. It takes longer than a normal poached egg and I'd have a lid on the pan to steam the top to solidify it. So after maybe 4 minutes take it out with a large spoon and stand it on the side while you butter your toast. Happily you can then touch the mould to remove the egg using a regular spoon.

Not eggsactly what I wanted
I was really looking forward to using these. I had visions of perfectly formed poached eggs. The reviews seemed good so I bought them. It took at least twenty five minutes for the egg to cook so it wasn't jelly like. Then I couldn't get it out of the poacher without getting under it with a knife. Next time i coated the poacher with a little butter first and the egg slid out but they take soooo long to cook in a pan surrounded with boiling water. Might quell better in the microwave but I haven't tried that. I've now purchased a metal pan with plastic egg poacher cups which work much better.

Silicone cups and poached eggs - perfect
We have had silicone pods for egg poaching for at least 10 years and had been using them very happily. For reasons outside the scope of this review we have lost access to our original silicone pods. So last year, I bought a big pack of the paper type poachies because it was suggested that the eggs might have a better more natural shape when put on the plate. That was a mistake. Every time, the egg seeped out and apart from the waste this method left a mess all over the saucepan and in the cup needed before adding them to the water.Relatively, these silicone pods are so simple. They stand up on their own (which my old ones really didn't). Crack the eggs straight into the pods, add them to the simmering water, 4 ½ mins later I am able to pick them using my fingers or tongs by the edge and put them on the bench I then use a desert spoon to (easily) remove the egg from the pod. I don't even pre rub with butter or oil with these (as I did with my old ones). They are easy to clean, the saucepan is spotless and no extra mugs dirtied. And zero waste of egg. Whats not to love!

Not really non-stick
All my other silicone bakeware is non stick but I was disappointed to find that my poached egg stuck firmly to the mould. I needed to use a knife all round the edge to remove it from the mould and needed more than rinsing to clean it. I had to scrape the cooked egg away before washing it. This defeated the object of buying non-stick poaching cups. Maybe if one rubbed oil into the mould it might help but defeats the object. I will throw mine away.

Perfect Poaching
Love these little silicon poaching cups. Delighted I went ahead and brought them. They are so easy to use and clean and store. I would advise though .. the best way for non sticking eggs is to drop a knob of butter in the bottom or wipe it round with butter before you add the egg and they slide out so easily when cooked. no more messy poached eggs.

Perfect poached eggs everytime 💓
Perfect poached eggs everytime, finally! Easy to wash, and they stack inside each other for handy storage. Use a little oil or butter at the bottom and the eggs slide out very easily. Really happy with this product!
