Cliffhanger [DVD] [2018]

Again very little to say other than when it says like new It’s like just the plastic is taken off & maybe used a couple of times , and unlike a vhs tape a ccc does not degrade over time ( something crazy like 200 year life span, So Lol nothing got us to worry about ) So when it says like new you can say up to 90% of the cost and get a quality DVD or Blu Ray.. It’s a very handy feature & I’ve bought dozens & dozens Like new & never not one time had a single issue. *Cliffhanger* is a childhood movie for me , and a video I owed that the boys used to live to come over stay the night & watch 15+ or 18+ movies And *Cliffhanger* was a staple in the 90’s Action & Adventure.. I want to get Daylight & a few more but I’m very happy with this purchase & you should not think twice it’s a great buy with lots of extras 5 stars!!

This is one of Stallone's best films, in my opinion. It's a sort of "Die Hard in the mountains", but with a smaller cast. However, it is extremely entertaining and reasonably action-packed, so should hold your attention until the end credits. There are also some great stunts, some of which are very spectacular. I did read something in the press when this film was released that, allegedly, Stallone was wary of making this film, as he was afraid of heights! I get the impression that making this film high up in the mountains may well have cured him of this phobia, though... You may also be interested to know that this version released by Optimum is the complete, uncut version, for the very first time in the UK. So, we are treated to even more swearing, violence and also a racist comment that was censored previously. The BBFC originally cut this film heavily for its original cinema and video release. It was then released on DVD, in another cut version, which was even more noticeably censored than the versions before. This Optimum release was the first time that UK audiences could see the complete, uncut version of Cliffhanger, even though we had to wait a long time for it. Believe me, though, it was worth waiting for! I give this excellent film the full five stars. Watch this if you long for the days back when action films didn't ruin their action scenes with CGI and used proper stuntmen. I promise you, you won't regret it! If you haven't already seen it, buy it now! You'll be glad that you did.

One of my personal favourite Stallone films. Bad guys lose money on a mountain. They go looking for it. Stallone gets mixed up in it. Amazing cast. Amazing bad guy performance by John Lithgow. He’s so evil in this he steals every scene he’s in. An incredible plane stunt at the beginning of the film. This also looks incredible in 4K. Highly recommended.

It's all too easy to dismiss this movie as Die Hard on a Mountain but that would be an injustice to this high octane entertaining yarn from 1993. Gabe Walker (Stallone) plays a guilt-ridden mountain rescuer who absconds from his job after a rescue effort goes horribly wrong. Months later, he returns just in time to rescue victims of a plane crash, who unfortunately turn out to be Eric Qualen (John Lithgow with an unintentionally funny English accent) & his nasty cronies who have lost 100 million dollars over the Rockies in a botched mid-air raid (as you do). It's a surprisingly decent performance from Stallone, the action sequences are spot on, it's well scored, there's plenty of shocks in store when we expect heroics but get disaster, young & old innocents indiscriminately blown away and all against the backdrop of stunning photography of the mountain region it's set in. Highly recommended. By the way, IGNORE THE 2001 DVD RELEASE OF THIS FILM FROM MOMENTUM PICTURES - that is the Cliffhanger DVD with the orange cover - that version of the film is ridiculously edited & toned down for violence completely stripping the film of some of its most effective moments. Great movie, tense first ten minutes,

I just had to order the USA IMPORT bluray of this film as i knew it would be UNCUT and far better than the BBFC UK version which was cut by 5 minuets.(the usa disc is 113 mis and the uk version is only 108 mins long.)I also like the fact this usa import has better bons features than the UK bluray and the picture quality is awsome,far better than the previous DVD version,and i also liked the SOUND of this disc,it sounded so clear. If your a fan of this 1993 action classic then i reccommend you getting this usa import from amazon!-its one of Stallones best films and looks even better on bluray!!-the USA import also plays on REGION B UK bluray players as its REGION FREE.(this is the main reason why i chose to get the usa import.)I wouldnt waste my money getting the UK version as its been cut by 5 minuets and it has no bonus features..i cant reccommend this usa import bluray anough..10 out of 10.

Took my time before I decided to purchase this Blu Ray version, as ive bought other BD films from the 90's & they dont look too hot! If you're like me & dont dig on film grain, dont worry this is a lovely print with hardly any grain, in fact it looks pretty damn good for an early 90's flick. This is also the uncut version, the UK DVD version released a few years back had the fight scene with Kynette in the cave chopped down a few secs. The extras seem to be the same as the earlier DVD release too. This is one of Sly's best movies & it looks great on Blu Ray, if you're a fan buy it, I bought mine from Amazon so should you!

Lo malo:...que la edita RESEN, normalmente son ediciones lo suficientemente malas como para no comprarlas. Lo bueno:... que en ésta ocasión es una buena edicion en un disco tradicional prensado y de doble capa....la imagen es bastante buena, supera claramente al DVD,el sonido tambien es bueno, y los extras abundantes e interesantes....RECOMENDADA tanto si ya la teneis en DVD como si nó...y a buen precio.Recibida como siempre puntualmente.

Sylvester in einer seiner besten Rollen, Die Optik dieser 4K Scheibe ist der Hammer. Ein großartiges Update.

Das der Film toll ist, ist relativ klar..und bedarf keiner Kritik. Zur BluRay einige Worte...ich kaufe gerade Filme aus der Zeit, um sie auf Blu-ray zu haben. Der Film ist 33 Jahre alt. Und in dem Moment meiner Kritik, ist er gerade echt die Referenz zu alle Filme , aus der Zeit, die ich mein eigen nenne. Wow und nochmals wow. Das Bild sowas von scharf , unglaublich. Kenne neue Filme, die nicht so scharf sind. Der Ton ist in DTS. Wenn man eine Anlage hat, kommt der Ton glasklar aus allen Boxen. Der Subwoofer gibt alles. Es rummst Vollgas. Normal sind diese Filme aus der Zeit eher Frontlastig, obwohl dts . Danke Studiocanal für den tollen Transfer. Ein MUSS für alle Film Enthusiasten. Unbedingt kaufen.
