Capers in Sea Salt - La Nicchia - Pantelleria Island, Sicily - 500g

These are really very good salt-preserved capers. The buds are not tiny, but small enough to be tight, which I think is a better texture than large buds which are generally softer. (Also I’ve found that large capers must soak much longer to bring down saltiness, and a long soak unfortunately soaks out flavor. These I cover with water a second or three and they’re fine.) The flavor is probably the best of the salted capers I’ve bought-quite fresh, a tiny bit floral. I’ll continue to buy this brand, but a bigger jar!

These capers are simply delicious! I use them in my pasta dishes and when cooking fish. The salt packed with the capers adds a wonderful flavor to any dish. A little too salty for me but they are quality capers

I always ought capers at the grocery. A friend talked about ordering capers from Italy packed in salt. I then ordered 3 brands. All similar, all very good but this one has a different richer flavor excellent.This is from a small family company and included a hand written note from the owner.That and the flavor put them number one in my book.EnjoyWayne

I have a hard time eating other capers after trying these. They're so fresh, plum and bright in flavor compared to the mushy brined capers you're used to. They really elevate a dish. Can't recommend them enough.

We love to integrate capers in our cooking in multiple ways (and, yes, even in cocktails!) We treat these as our special meal/special occasion capers - where they can sit at the forefront of what we are doing. They are terrific on a nice piece of fish, piccata, salads, and much more. Be sure to give them a good rinse, as they are packed in sea salt (adding nicely to the flavor.) We tend to already cook lightly with salt and, when using these, we'll dial it back even further letting the capers bring the flavor to the table!

When the package was delivered I could smell the capers before I opened the box, it was like heaven.These capers are just fantastic. The size is great, they are a nice medium size, and they are plump. They were packed with care and all of them arrived intact.
