Great Gimbal for Hero 4 and 5...
I purchased the EVO GP-PRO 3 Axis Gimbal for my Hero 4 Silver and I'd have to say it is probably the best gimbal out there. What really made the decision for me was that EVO is in Bend Oregon and they offer a full 1-year US warranty on the product. They also have a great website with lots of accessories (I purchased the carbon extension rods, remote control, extra batteries, etc).I had some questions about them producing other gimbals for cameras like the Sony RX100iv and they answered promptly. However, what really impressed me was when I bought the Hero 5 Black and asked their customer support what they were doing to support the latest GoPro camera. They are coming out with an upgrade bracket but it wasn't going to meet my schedule for my trip to Japan.Because the Hero 5 Black is slightly larger than the Hero 4 because of the in-built waterproof housing the bracket on the gimbal is just a little too small to fit around the camera to hold it in place... I couldn't believe it when they said it would work if I filed the bracket down and if I wished they would do it for me and ship it to me... They sent me a link for postage to Hawaii... I paid for USPS Priority mail and 3 days later I have the filed down bracket... attached the Hero 5 Black and it WORKS!!!... Unbelievable service... very fast responses... best customer service I've had in a while...I can't praise the guys at EVO enough... very happy with my purchase and the way they have supported me... I would strongly recommend this company and their products...

An honest guys review
Here is my review of this EVO Gimbal for the GoPro Hero4 Silver. I am not a professional video person. I am just the family photographer/video guy. I take this on our vacations and use it several times a month on hikes, going to the beach, or family events.Pros:Very well balanced. this fits my GoPro silver very well.I love the fact that i do not have to take around an extra GoPro battery. I just plug it indirectly to the gimbal.Walking around with it in Hawaii was quite easy. Going from standby mode or turning it off while at a restaurant was easy to do and the smooth footage was great.Everyone had an easy time using it.Quality is awesome. The threads in the handle just glide as you screw it together. Fits well in your hand and makes it easy to carry around especially on vacation.Taking it apart and putting it away is easy to do.Cons:This only fits the GoPro. You can not use a case and have it attached to the gimbal. So if it is raining you have to be careful if you are out doors. Bring a plastic bag just in case it really rains on you. DisneyWorld and those afternoon heavy showers in Florida will get you.It is not cheap. But i have learned if you want a quality product you pay for what you get. Besides the quality images will justify the cost.Adding on an external mic is recommended to get good audio. Unfortunately attaching a mic to the GoPro while on the Gimbal is a unique balancing act for the gimbal. If you do figure out how to do it you will take away the simplicity of this set up.

Excellent gimbal with a few minor cons
This is definitely an excellent gimbal for your GoPro 4. As many have already mentioned the microphone location of the GoPro 5 picks up too much of the motor noise, so this gimbal is not recommended for the GP5. My GoPro 4 silver is absolutely perfect for this gimbal. The quality of the stabilizer is top-notch. I've even built my own motorized 2-axis gimbal stabilizer and this EVO GP-PRO is far more versatile and reliable. There are a few cons that I would like to point out.1) Veers off of center when running. I know most of the users of this gimbal won't be trail runners but I've found myself using it more and more for trail running and notice that when holding the EVO GP-PRO pointed forward the center veers to the right It veers so much that it will eventually hit the upper limit and bang into itself.2) It's heavy. I love that the gimbal has excellent battery life but the overall gimbal itself is heavy to hold especially on a long hike or run.3) It doesn't park well. What I mean by "park" is that when you're not using it, there's no real way to store it when you're on the move. If you hold it, it lays limp and swings around banging into itself. If you put it in your pocket it sticks out and you're worried about scratching your GP lens. I really wish it had some kind of "park" mechanism where it will lock the motors so as to prevent any swiveling movement while not in use. This is probably my biggest frustration of this gimbal is that storage when on the go is challenging.Given my cons I think I will get the EVO GP-PRO SS, the wearable version. I find myself using it more when I'm on the go. For those who want to capture moments of children or moving objects while they are stationary this gimbal is great. But if you're moving around trying to capture the landscape I think a wearable is more suited for you. I'm considering the SS and get a selfie-stick with it for added versatility.

Amazing gadget! I was so impressed with my gimbal-mounted GoPro footage from my drone, I decided to try the GP-PRO. I've used it for action footage on my ATV and Waverunner. The video is rock steady with a level horizon, which is something I was unable to get with helmet mounts or stick handles. Wind resistance at 70mph on the Waverunner didn't affect the steadiness. My only complaint would be the power button sticking out on the side. (Needs an indentation or stronger spring/button switch) If you wrap it up in a soft cloth and transport it in a backpack, it can power itself on & drain the batteries. I have been taking it apart to transport it.

Battery compartment needs re-engineering
Mine was faulty and I had to return it.Considering the high price of this item I expected better quality, particularly with the screw cap and the battery compartment. Very poor and leaves a lot to be desired.

A high-quality gimbal, but a bit pricey compared to others that have almost identical features
Let me preface this very in-depth review by saying that I am a professional photographer who is just starting to get into videography - I've been around cameras for most of my life, but only recently have I started to explore and learn about shooting video. I'm by no means a professional videographer, but I think that my background in photography puts me in much more of the "serious hobbyist" space rather than the amateur space. This was one of three gimbals that I purchased for my GoPro Hero 6 action camera. I was initially looking into the GoPro Karma Grip gimbal, but at $400 plus tax, I figured I better do some research to see what other (hopefully cheaper) alternatives exist.Out of all three gimbals that I bought, this was the most expensive and my least favourite. One thing I will say about it is that it did feel quite solid and sturdy, and the materials it is consutructed with feel like they're really high quality. So if you don't mind spending a little bit more money and want something a bit tougher, this gimbal might be perfect for you.One thing I really like about this gimbal is the joystick - it feels tough and well-made and that it won't break any time soon. It feels noticeably better than the joysticks on the other two gimbals I tried, but I don't think the joystick alone is enough to justify paying more than $100 for this gimbal over the others. One of the things I disliked most about this gimbal is that you are actually required to use both batteries at the same time, which not only means you don't get any backup batteries (unless you buy them separately) but it also significantly lengthens the gimbal handle...in some situations a longer handle might be better/easier to use, but in other situations it isn't. I would prefer to have the option to lengthen the handle if I want to, but this gimble doesn't really give you that choice. In my opinion and experience, this is a very good gimbal. But it is about $100 more expensive than some other options that, also in my opinion and experience, do the same job just as well. Personally I would recommend a different gimbal over this one, since some that cost less even have more features like weathersealing which is something that was important to me. But in terms of getting good stabilized footage, this gimbal will certainly do the trick!

Excellent Product
Takes a bit of time to get started if you're not savvy with the whole EVO experience, but once you're up and running you're good to go. It has great balance, feels good in hand (though you may need a lanyard attached to the female connector at the bottom of the EVO to help prevent the unit from crashing to the ground if you mishandle it and it slips from your grasp. The servo motors work very well, with toggle thumb directional turning for slower movements, as well as wrist rotational turning if you're moving fast and need to follow an object quickly. There is one problem, however, and it is not with this EVO unit. The problem lies with the GoPro, where the GoPros (Hero 5 & 6) have always had terrible sound quality issues and require an external 3.5mm mic adapter attached to a deadcat mic boom in order to have sharp, quality sound. You will definately notice an incredible difference with a deadcat mic! This all leads to the fact that you cannot use this EVO unit and have quality sound via the deadcat mic with the attached adapter because the servo motors will not work accordingly. If you are looking for very smooth motion action shots, however, then this EVO unit is fantastic. You can't go wrong.

Really great product overall
Really great product overall!Pros:- the video footage is really smooth- the stick is solid (made of airplane metal)- the killer deal is the GoPro recharge capability (that's the main reason why I choose this over other gimbal like the Karma Grip)- long battery durability- I didn't expect it would also fit my camera GoPro backpack, I thought it only handle the main camera only- replacement battery shipping time & cost are high, it's nice that other alternative battery are still workableCons:- shipping with DHL to USA / Canada border costs me extra 86$ (not mention here)- a piece of plastic covering the electronic device cable to recharge the GoPro fall down after 1 try- very hard to find a proper small case on Internet that fits it size, I don't want to bring a huge EVO gimbal box in travelling with me

good product
Makes filming with a GoPro that doesn't have a great internal stabilizer way, way, WAY better. Delivers footage you actually want to watch and doesn't make you nauseous. I use it mostly for snowboarding / follow caming and it works well. Every now and then it goes on the fritz when you turn it one, but if you turn it off, mount your camera properly and start over it usually works fine. I you roll a lot, it sometimes looses it's center. I also am not a great fan of the joystick - seems fickle and it's a pretty important function of the unit, so hopefully it'll never break. All in all I am super happy with this product.
