I've tried several hip ice pack, but this one is head and shoulders above the rest, with a quality wrap, excellent straps that hold it in place, durable, and does not leak. It's comfortable to wear after surgery on hip, and th design keeps the thick wrap in place. A great buy, you won't regret it, and once used, it will regain the cold ice pack compression in approximately 3-4 hours.

I ordered this product after recently having a total hip replacement. The order arrived quickly and was well packaged. I found the product to be well made and just as described in the ad. One side is soft and velvety, the other side a waterproof material. The size is just right for me at 124 pounds. It covers the front, side and back of my hip area. The straps are plenty long enough to wrap around my waist and thigh. If I were much larger, I don’t know that the product would be large enough to cover the whole hip area. When frozen, it is very stiff and I have to let it thaw for 10 minutes or so in order to be able to wrap it around my body. Condensation builds up on the waterproof side VERY badly. I have to wrap the unit in a hand towel in order to not get my clothing wet. Overall, the product does what it says it will do. It has a few flaws, but the good outweighs the bad. I I do not regret buying and have found it to be very helpful for my hip. I am contemplating buying a 2nd unit so that I always have one ready to use.

Great ice pack and soft cover. However ice pack needs to be wider since not many have the body of the skinny model. Additionally the straps are way too short to put around your waist and thigh strap too long.

I purchased two to use after my total hip replacement and they worked great! Stayed cold for good amount of time! The straps help it stay in place and I loved that one side was soft. Only downside, is I had to make sure to use with a towel because they do sweat some as you wear them. Highly recommend!

I am using this gel ice pack on my left hip following replacement. The gel stays cold for well over the 20 minutes I am to use it. After being back in the freezer for 3-4 hours, it is ready for 20 more minutes on the hip. I did not deduct a star for this minor complaint, but the vinyl side gets a little "frost" on it soon after coming out of the freezer. If this is an issue, just put a hand towel on that side to absorb the moisture. And I will add that I don't velcro the straps around my leg as I use the ice pack in a chair and just put the pack against the hip and pull the straps under the right leg to keep it against the left hip. Much easier than dealing with sticky velcro.

After doing much research about the value of cold therapy for my husband’s post hip replacement therapy, I ordered this item as well as rented a cryotherapy system that pumps cold water through a wrap. We have found this wrap far more valuable and effective than the very expensive cryotherapy system. It freezes quickly, is comfortable to wear and lasts approx 30 minutes on every application. The elastic straps secure and stretch easily and are of superior quality. Our recommendation is to not bother with the expensive electric cryotherapy system($300 to rent) and purchase this very effective cold therapy system. If we could give it 10 stars we would!!
