Padded Velcro Breakaway Safety Halter for GreenGuard Equine Horse Grazing Muzzle, (60/M) Horse

The halter works perfectly with the greenguard grazing muzzle. The ring on the front of the nose and is just right for attaching the front of the grazing muzzle. The front strap allows for greater adjustability for the greenguard grazing muzzle. It also helps keep the halter in place. On the downside, the front strap slides too easily on the crown piece. It tends to get pushed over the ears. Tightening the front strap does help.

Well, I thought I did all my research and went with the best muzzle, which was also the most expensive. Within the first week, when we were only keeping it on for 1/2 the day to get them used to it, the pony lost his. I'm sure the breakaway part of the breakaway halter works. He was happily gorging on the grass. For the past 3 days, we formed a search party to comb our pasture and the wooded area to no avail. Our halter and muzzle is gone. With everything growing so fast, there's little hope we will find it now. Maybe next winter. I'm very sad about this and now I have to think of another viable option for the pony. Our other horse has not lost hers, but because they can't bear to be separated, they both have to stay in the small dry lot until we can figure out plan B.

Great breakaway halter at reasonable price. Believe the center nose band keeper and center forehead strap are a big help in keeping the muzzle in place.Also, the multiple adjustment buckles are very beneficial. If going to use the Greenguard muzzle (which I believe is the best on the market),I would definitely pair it with this halter. The additional forehead strap and center nose keeper allow much better adjustments and one will not spend their time looking for their lost muzzle. Would definitely purchase again. Also, Greenguard's follow up customer service has been incredible and much appreciated although I have not needed their service. It is certainly nice to know that they are available for help as necessary.

I purchased both the halter and the muzzle for my overweight OTTB. After just a few days, the muzzle became strangely mis-shaped, and I don't want to put it back on my horse as it will now rub and irritate his muzzle. Bummed, because I was excited to try greenguard after hearing so many positive reviews.

The strap down the center of the face is not anchored to the brow band so it can slip from side to side. The cart buckles are ridiculously large making adjustment difficult.

A must for the grazing muzzle! Still can be pulled off, but is less likely and more comfortable to my mare.

The addition of the halter to the Greenguard grazing muzzle made the muzzle stay in place. The headstall has rubber on it that makes the strap that goes down the middle of the horse's face stay in the middle of the face and maintain that position. I am very pleased with both products.
