How stable is this Game on PS3 Console? Does it suffer from freezes and glitches or will it play as good as in a newer generation console?

It suffers the curse of all Lego games and will freeze. It's playable but all Lego games freeze so I just deal with it.

You can play either alone or with a friend. (Pretty much all the Lego games can be played with 2 players)

Is Spider-Man on the character list?

No. At least not that I've unlocked yet. But I doubt he is anyway.
