A good piece of kit for security and peace of mind.
A really great system. Very easy to setup. Already had a couple of outdoor cameras covering the front of my house so purchased this set to cover all the entrances from indoors. Going on history the batteries have a very long life and the quality of the cameras are top notch. You can set the camera at angles depending on the placement and despite the brackets being adequate I think there are better after market ones available. I have found that there can be a slight delay but nothing more than any other wireless system I have seen or used. On the plus side I have found that every time I link up a new camera the Blink subscription resets meaning I could have 4 months free if I do a camera a month. Not Ideal if you have to set them up all at once but I have about six cameras covering the outside of my property - so these are just an added security.

Slug detective
So....my initial buy was to record workman completing work in my social housing home. Why? because they weren't! Have not used it for this yet. I recently found a snail or slug trail over my kitchen sink top which had a black dish mat. Horriffied i bleached the whole kitchen and walls as the snail/slug had slimed everywhere literally. Then i rembered my new cameras. I read some reviews that the motion detector was going off all the time and a response was to reduce the sensitivity and also the tempreature could be an issue. So I maxed the sensitivity on all three cameras and placed them strategically in the kitchen to where i thought the little bugger's may be coming in. First morning had roughly 65 videos (installed a 256gb external memory) and I looked with bated breath for the culprit to slime pass the camera but it didn't. In my dispondency I realised it won't come out because of all the bleach, so i waited until i saw slime again and positioned the cameras. Next morning another 70 clips but did not see anything or i did not realise what I was seeing. The following evening I positioned one of the cameras at the back of my kitchen cupboard where there is space and the boiler. Each time i position the camera I take a snap shot to position the camera correctly. I looked at the image under the kitchen work top and next to the black leg holding the cupboard I saw what looked like a fat slug. I tilted my camera and could pinch in but I was still not sure. That evening I alarmed the cameras and went into live view...and what I had thought was a slug was, and he was on the move half hidden by the black leg. (couldn't screenshot within blink to show slugs initial placement due to security policy of blink?) The next morning I had 75 clips (25% of memory) and slug trail on drainer. I opened the videos and turned my camera side ways and realised I could pinch in and there I found it sliming past my kitchen sink. I knew now he was not coming into the kitchen and sliming up the cupboards so pulled the boiler cover away and saw a well worn slug track. He had been coming up through the boiler pipes gap SOLVED! Bleached and salted everywhere. The cameras are brillant in my opinion. Yes my batteries may not last long (slug hunting) but the quality of both day and night are exceptional. There are other features the camera does such a zone. You decide how much of the area you want to clip (record) Motion detection: Zone, clip length, sensitvity. Monitoring: battery, temperature. Motion recording: night vision settings. Audio: enable speaker, speaker volume. Video: quality. Photo capture: enable, led status, firmware, wifi etc Looking forward to using this more and getting to know the other features. I have read a review that says if you are not on a plan you loose the ability to view your clips directly in the app meaning you have to remove your memeory stick and put it in a computer? Also stated by blink Live View sessions can only be saved with a Blink Subscription Plan.? If I had read all this before I may not have purchased the cameras. I'll have to see what hassel this casues then will update this review. **Update: I did end up returning these due to the subscription considering I paid £189 But... they are still good quality but not for me.

You get what you pay for in a mixed bag
When you consider the price of the blink system it soon becomes apparent that you get a lot for the money which you pay, however, with lower pricing, the quality of components is lower and this is reflected in the quality of images you can obtain, particularly at night with a standard resolution of up to 1080p. Put into the mix that this battery powered camera has a very positive 2 year battery life and this sums up this system in my view, low cost, reasonable images produced in moderate to strong light and notifications within about 10 seconds of anything which triggers one of the camera sensors. I have 5 external cameras monitoring the outside aspects of our house, including the drive with a battery powered floodlight, three internal cameras, comprising two blink mini wired camera; one of which has the pan-tilt option to monitor our kitchen and dog and now this indoor camera to enhance the surveillance in our home. Whilst I think that the blink mini cameras are extremely good, being mains powered does limit where you locate them somewhat, which is very much negated with this battery powered camera which offers all of the flexibility associated with battery power for not much more money over the mini mains powered model. We already subscribe to an annual blink plan and therefore the useful trial subscription is of greater value to new purchasers of system modules than it is to us and adds short term value; I have taken this positive point into my rating for this camera. Notifications of a camera being triggered take around 10 seconds to come through to my mobile phone via 4/5g and about three seconds to come through to our echo show using the same wifi system. Accessing the video clip takes around a further 10 seconds for each, as does using the voice option to talk to someone. Overall, these cameras do produce an image, but with reduced light the image quality reduces significantly. I therefore use these cameras as an alarm to notify me if anyone/thing is moving inside or outside the house which we weren’t expecting, rather than to record a high quality image. I have attached a video of our untidy garage to this review to determine how good low light recording is for image quality As part of our existing system for which we already have a cloud based subscription, this camera offers good value and contributes to our home security.

I love it
I'm very happy with my indoor camera I can use it to be able to see anyone that is coming to my house as I don't have a great view to see who's coming to my houese and have a side door entrance. Gives me that extra peace of mind. Very easy to setup on the app and pair up with my Alexa on the echo too for seamless notifications of motion detected. Picture is brilliant during the day and at night aswell, love the addition of the sync module included with the camera as I can view my camera at anytime of the day. Overall I'm very satisfied with my new indoor camera.

Worth Every Penny
Bought one Blink battery camera, to save running cables, and a sync module because one (or both of our dogs) has decided to do its business indoors during the night and we didn't know which one it was. The setup was easy, we bought a camera stand to save drilling holes but the camera is so light I think it could be put on the wall using Velcro pads. I was surprised by the functionality too, one being the ability to schedule when the cameras motion detection becomes active i.e. at what times during which days. To save messing about with memory cards we signed up to the web for £80 a year and as we've now decided to buy another two cameras the subscription gives us 10% off any additional Blink items that we buy plus we can link as many items to the one sync module as we want! Now thinking of buying the Blink doorbell too. Play back was good, picture clear even in the dark, unfortunately the dogs must know it's there as since we've had it they haven't done anything bad!! A good to know is that the QR code for the camera is under the battery cover!

##### Be AWARE ##### BEWARE ##### Flexible Relationship with Reality ALERT!
This and other XT2 systems are shipping with Sync Module 2. Sync Module 2 is not available to buy as a separate product . . . allegedly it is coming soon . . . but not yet!!!! So, buy this and become an involuntary Beta Tester!!!!!! I have a sprawling property (former farmhouse with barns). I have FIVE sync modules and FIFTEEN cameras. I get free Cloud storage etc. because I signed up BEFORE they introduced a subscription service. It is only a matter of time before I HAVE TO PAY Subscription charges . . . I would be stupid to think otherwise! So, seeing SYNC MODULE 2 is available (with LOCAL STORAGE) in the camera packs on offer . . . I thought I would upgrade. WARNING : DO NOT UPGRADE IF YOU HAVE more than one sync module and more than one or two cameras. I contacted Blink Support :- Question 1. How do I save camera configurations. ANSWER : Camera settings are saved on the Sync module so if you change sync module you will need to adjust your settings again. In other words all customisation of settings will be lost etc. Question 2. How do I install Sync Module 2 WITHOUT having to install EVERY camera from scratch Answer : you will need install every camera from the beginning again as there are different sync Modules. In other words EVERY Camera will have to be installed as though it were a brand new camera . . . you will have to start climbing ladders to get serial numbers etc. You will need to set camera positions once again, motion detection zones, etc., etc. You CANNOT access serial numbers of any cameras through the App. . . . you WILL have to climb ladders etc. AND cameras do not easily install (see other reviews) . . . expect failures to register cameras so type the serial numbers in a file that you can copy and paste from (and keep for future reference). ##### This is a grievance that has been aired on the Blink Forum for several years . . . Blink has failed to respond to the issue i.e. by providing a solution! ##### Question 3. How do I transfer a camera from one sync module to another without a complete re-installation of the camera. Answer : you will need install every camera from the beginning again as there are different sync Modules. In other words same as question 2 Question 4. WITHOUT a Cloud Account : Local Storage on Sync module 2 . . . will it store data from cameras connected to another module? OR only cameras connected directly to it? Answer : It will only store clips from the cameras connected to the Sync module. In other words, I will have to buy FIVE 'Sync modules 2' AND FIVE USB Flash Drives The 'blink system' is on my Network . . . I can see all the blink devices . . . the blink system will not allow users to assign a module to a camera for storage of clips . . . one module stores data from the cameras attached to it. Blink treats every sync module as a separate system. [Whereas a product such as Energenie MiHome Automation uses sync modules which are integrated into a single system!] Furthermore, you think you are buying Sync Module 2 . . . wrong . . . none of the much lauded 'new' functionality has not been deployed. You are buying a 'neutered SYNC MODULE 2' which will do nothing more than your existing sync modules (I do not have a paid for subscription . . . I registered early so I am on the 'free' set up). The camera system description states "Blink Sync Module 2: Local Video Storage Back up video clips recorded in the cloud from up to 10 cameras to the Blink Sync Module 2 in your home and view them on your computer with no additional fees. Record your video clips locally to the Blink Sync Module 2 (coming soon). USB flash drive required (sold separately)." Note : "(coming soon)" . . . when they have finished beta testing on unsuspecting customers!!!!! ANOTHER WARNING : Sync Module 2 Product description states "The Sync Module 2 connects up to 10 of any Blink Indoor, Blink Outdoor, XT2, XT and Blink Mini cameras (not required for Blink Mini). " BUT BUT BUT . . . it then states . . . "No monthly fees are required to use local video storage functionality. Local video storage functionality is not compatible with Blink XT2, XT and first-generation Indoor cameras." Translated : Breathtakingly unbelievable!!!!! So, if you buy an Indoor Camera System . . . IT WILL NOT HAVE LOCAL VIDEO STORAGE FUNCTIONALITY . . . so don't rush out and buy a 256gb flash drive to go with it. So, Sync Module 2 has been designed by persons with a 'flexible relationship with reality' and deployment of new features is non-existent! The product is a nightmare, totally misleading . . . and I think Blink have dug a very deep hole which they've tried to fill with promises they will be unable to keep. This nightmare could account for the delay in release of Sync Module 2 . . . TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY ------------------------------------ You can't join the forum "We are making some changes to our Blink forum to turn it into an even better place for the community around our cameras to interact and learn together. In preparation for these changes, we are not allowing any new users to sign up with this existing forum. Thanks for being a part of the Blink community and we look forward to seeing you in the future!" All you can do is contact support who are not particularly helpful. DO NOT BUY THIS.

Really great camera
Its really good for indoors. Easy setup on 5ghz

Motion Detection is poor, PIR based not image based.
I bought these recently when they were on offer. They are a cheap option for some CCTV. You get a blink subscription for 30 days which has just ended. I have to be honest though, I am dissapointed in these camera's. I have blink mini's and they work much better for 1 simple reason and that is the motion detection works. These blink indoor and outdoor cameras use PIR detection like an outdoor light, this is very ineffective and is really bad at recording motion. The mini's use pixel change detection which is software based so they actually work. These PIR based devices cannot be relied upon, they miss motion events all the time. As the whole point of CCTV is to record event, these cannot be used for security; ok for general remote viewing but definately not a security solution. The software is also very limited in the way it records. You get loads of clips on the app which you have to trawl through, its not bad, just a bit basic. I have a ring doorbell and the ring app is loads better, that is far more intuitive and easier to use. Definately wont be subscribing to the service as the outdoor/indoor cameras just aren't up to it, by design. I assume the use PIR detection as they work from battery's so the PIR is active only to keep battery useage low; then the system kicks into action on motion using more power. unfortunatelyt this just doesnt really work well by design.
