Rigid design keeps maximum air flow meaning more vacuum available for your needs. Fit my vacuum tightly to protect the vacuum motor from debris.

The review guidelines for this filter ask about "easy to install, value for money, and suction power". As best I can tell, this is a decent quality filter in terms of construction and materials used. I think it will perform (flow and filter air) as well as the OEM filter in most applications. I see no problems in performance after putting it in my vacuum. From that standpoint, "suction power" can be rated 5 stars.The same rationale applies in the "value for money" category. This filter is manufactured to fit a very LARGE number of vacuum cleaner brands and models (didn't count them, but looks like at least fifty or more). That means that--while it may not be a precise match for the original filter for every vacuum in every respect--it can be made to work in those vacuums and can be manufactured at a much lower cost than engineering 15 different EXACT filter designs for that same group of vacuum cleaners. For that reason, the filter is comparatively inexpensive and the value for money is good--another 5 stars.The trade-off is that, while this filter probably fits some vacuums exactly--it didn't fit mine that way even though it supposedly "fits" my model number. My original OEM filter was open on both ends--one open end seals against the vacuum motor head and then a disc-type plate seals the other open end with a nut; everything goes together perfectly. This replacement filter, however, has one open end and a installed fixed plate at the other end. That wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the open end fit my vacuum motor head properly and tightly--but it doesn't . It is slightly too small, and I had to force the filter on the vacuum head as best I could and crank the nut down on the plastic plate to try to ensure a good seal. I think I got an ADEQUATE seal, but it certainly didn't fit properly even though it does work. Best case, I got a replacement filter that will work at a very good price. Worst case, I don't have a sufficient seal of the filter to the vacuum head which results in a dirty air leak that will destroy my vacuum motor over time. We'll see which scene plays out.

Good quality and perfect fit for this older shop vac

The box says compatible with my Rigid brand vacuum but it's not. The correct filter has both ends open and a 4" circular cap you slip over it and plastic wing nut. The new filter has a sealed end making installation very difficult. The box the filter came in also states: "for DRY vacuum use only" -- but also says compatible with most sears wet/dry vacuums. Another poorly made Chinese product. Be careful ordering this thing.
