Best 150 bucks i've spent.
I have a few other figures from the Takara Tomy Masterpiece line but this one is by far the best. As with all of their other models, Takara puts in a ton of detail. The figure is fully transformable, and comes with some really nice accessories like an energon cube, his iconic blaster, a mini-version of Megatron transformed into his gun form, but best of all is Laserbeak. I had the original G1 Soundwave as a kid but never had a Laserbeak to go with it. Oh and a nice little touch is that one of the accessories is a cassette case. I dunno why you would ever use it but its that kind of attention to detail that make these Takara figures so worth the price. In addition to being fully transformable, the figure has extremly generous joints so you can pose it in virtually any position. You can get it to look like the picture on the box or what ever else you can think of (mostly). I also have the Prowl, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, and Smokescreen from Takara and amazingly the quality is very consistent across all the figures. The paint job is fantastic and I've not noticed any blemishes. The quality of the plastic is very high, and overall Soundwave feels very sturdy. At $150 I think its a pretty good value for the price, though I won't pretend that its cheep.I was also luck to have received this shipped in a box (i.e. the seller, not Amazon in this case, was good enough to use a shipping box) so the packaging is in great shape. I have to say that the packaging for this peice is also really great. The art on the front is fantastic and makes a good display peice on its own.Overall I just can't recommend this one enough. After getting it and seeing the figure in person I went out and picked up a Megatron. Looking forward to seeing if they continue to hold up.

MP-13 Soundwave
This fantastic model is straight from Japan, manufactured by Takara Tomy. Consequently, nearly all text included with the model is in Japanese. This is not a huge hinderance, as the transformation process is fairly easily understood with the graphical depictions in the instructions, but if you wanted to read up on, say, the history of the character or read an important detail about the model, then you must learn to read Japanese or get it translated by someone. The model itself in robot form stands approximately 9 inches high, and is made entirely of plastic. No die cast parts are included. The complexity of the model makes it a poor choice for young children or irresponsible adults, but the detail is the highest of any Soundwave model on the market, and as such could be considered the standard by which all others are measured. The index finger on both hands is articulated with two joints, and the other fingers are articulated with one. This allows Soundwave to "point" and be posed in a variety of ways, given the rest of his extensive articulation is taken into consideration. The model includes Soundwave's blaster, a miniature Megatron in gun mode that the model can hold in either hand, an "energon cube" that mounts with a simple snap to the model's cassette door, and as an awesome bonus, also includes Laserbeak, the cassette tape that transforms into a bird, and looks very similar to how it did in the animated show. The cassette tape includes its own case as well. The cassette door on the model's chest opens and the tape can be stored inside. As another bonus, the rear wall of the cassette cavity can be pushed back to hold up to three separate cassettes, sold separately. Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy and Buzzsaw are all sized to fit and work with this model. In portable cassette player mode, the model is very solid. Most attachments, such as the scanner piece, and the blaster, either fold down and store somewhere on the model, or attach firmly in an inconspicuous place to make the alternate mode look very clean and remove any worries about lost parts. The parts that do not attach (energon cube, megatron blaster, cassette case) should be stored where they won't be misplaced. The only downside was the price. To pay this price, there should be substantial die-cast content, and as stated earlier, there is none. Be sure you are careful with this; it is not designed to withstand great wear and tear, and is best suited for serious adult collectors and enthusiasts. The Japanese text printed on the box and in the literature helped to reinforce the authenticity of the product. I'm very satisfied with the product overall. Great purchase for enthusiasts and collectors. Shop around for the best price.

Awesome.
Awesome figure. Wanted a Soundwave as a kid but never found one. The attention to detail on this character is amazing! He's on a bookshelf in the same pose as shown with a LED light over him showing off the great reflection of the blue and silver. The shipping was ultra fast! Only negative was the price and that it didn't come with a ravage character but that is what it is.. I recommend the product and the seller.. A true masterpiece.

Soundwave Superior.
I've always loved Soundwave, and to have this in my collection, it's a great piece. The only minor issue was, it took a few extra days to ship, but with the way things are right now it's understandable. But it did arrive a day earlier than expected. This is the re release MP Soundwave, but for the price, it's way better than what the original is going for. Great detail and fun to mess with once you get the transformation down. Even if you don't normally collect this line, but grew up with Transformers, he's one you should have.

One of the best transformers masterpiece figures ever!
This figure is absolutely awesome. It really looks like the animation character, the painting job is excellent. The fact it comes with the extra figure Laserbeak makes it even more cool, and it fits in the chest of Soundwave. I am so glad i got this figure, it's a very nice addition to my collection.

Great amount of detail
Great amount of detail, many accessories, like energon cube and a megatron pistol just like you used to watch on the cartoon episodes. I loved the laserbeak cassette. Robot is as big as most of the other masterpieces like star scream. I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because I will always measure them up to the original Optimus Prime Masterpiece which included some metal parts and had lots more details like all articulated fingers and so on. Still it is one of the best masterpieces so far and a must if you collect them.
