Works well with iPhone 12 and Otterbox Commuter case.
I'm using it attached to the heat vent in my car, 2018 Mazda CX-5. It has an adjustable piece on it that allows you to have a specific angle and keeps the heater vent from moving which would change the angle of your phone. This was important to me. Also the sides move out and in to hold the phone in and they don't move unless you squeeze the buttons on each side. This is great because your phone won't accidentally fall out. The wireless charging works well and you can remove your phone by pressing the 2 side buttons and not have to disconnect a wire. I tried 2 other units which didn't work out for me, this one is the best.

Ideal for my Crosstrek and my FJ.
My son introduced me to phone holders that also charge the phone. After I returned home from that trip I found this one on Amazon and it's proven to be all that they say it is/does. I've been using it for a year and a half now and I have no complaints. It holds my phone (Galaxy S21 Ultra) without a problem. I situated the mount so that when the phone is in place the weight of the phone brings the mount arm down to where it just barely rests on the dash, so the suction cup doesn't have to do ALL the work of holding up the heavy phone. Consequently I've only had the suction cup give up once in that 1.5 years. All I had to do was gently wash it with a mild hand soap, re-mount it and we're off and driving again! I highly recommend this phone mount.

Great armature, okay suction pad, with an overly complicated holder
The Good - This armature is excellent! It is designed with a good range of motion and the tightening knobs at each joint allow the user to lock it into just the right angle. There is one flaw and one “Could be better” aspect of the armature: Flaw – the armature cannot position the phone holder below lower than the base, Opportunity – deigning the arm to telescope would increase the market for this product. The Bad - Their sticky pad and suction cup did not maintain connection through the heat and cold of a Southern January day. This made me suspect it would not hold through the temperature variations of more extreme climates. The Ugly - The phone holder provided is “Powered”. It does NOT charge the phone. The opening mechanism is slower and less responsive than non-powered phone holders. The phone holder is USABLE, merely less capable than its competitors.Options - Using a drill and a few bolts/lock washers/nuts ($3.31) to mount the base of this product ($24) to a mounting point, I used the BuiltRight Industries Dash Mount already installed for other purposes, makes this functional. Swapping out the phone holder portion for the mechanical one out of an old system converted it into the best phone mounting system I’ve ever owned.

Works well and is extremely handy!
Overall a great car mount. I've been using suction cup mounts for ages now but realized that it's not worth renewing a new one every year, since no suction cup mount lasts forever. I opted to use the fan mount for this product as I drive all year long. It was really easy to install, and clips onto my car really well (BMW E92 for reference, fits the fans perfectly). I also use an iPhone 11 Pro, and although the charging is not the fastest (as expected of a wireless charger) it has been working well and consistently. I drive on pretty bumpy roads and fast lanes, and even with the turbulence of the car the mount hasn't budged. Make sure to read the description very carefully, as a lot of people I've noticed on the reviews prior to purchasing not reading the fine lines and blaming the product for it. Overall very worth purchasing!

doesn't work
I have tried many types of phone mounts. First the positives. The product was easy to install. It really sticks well to the dash on my car. The arms, in the closed position (they are always in the closed position), hold my iphone 12 snugly. That's it for the positives. The arms do not open and close (they did it once). The long arm leading from the suction device to the phone does not hold the weight of the phone, so it is permanently resting in the down position. The adjuster knobs do not turn, so tightening is not possible. The cable doesn't work either - I had to buy a new one. So basically, it is a not-very-attractive phone holder stuck to my dash. I know I should have returned it, but just too fed up looking for one that works. Do NOT recommend.

Seemed solid enough but might not work for your car vents
So I got this for my Saab 9-3 which is 14 years old, still epic but has no GPS and handsfree bluetooth only (no music bluetooth). The actual caddy itself is absolutely fine - when you put your phone in it and it detects wireless charging, it automatically clenches the phone. Minor problem I've found is that sometimes I need to unlock the phone and the fingerprint sensor at the back of the phone is partially obscured - so you have to configure the bottom of the caddy to ride up a little higher which you can only do so much otherwise the charging doesn't work. >> Suspect on this one that I should just investigate the car driving profile which may remove the need for the unlock.Big problem for me was the vent holder. There is a big sticky pad holder that comes with it, but it doesn't look like it would last long on the dash. The vent holder would have worked except that the clip is so chunky it doesn't fit in the fine fins of the Saab vent.So no joy but I can somewhat use it in Land Rover, but if you're buying it for a Saab, pass olzn this model and get the more recent (?) models with the thin wire hook which seem designed for this very situation.Update - so a year plus after buying it on special, I finally started using it in the Landrover (LR4) - it was only so. good - today after 3 months the clamp broke - the plastic housing on one side of the clip broke and now it's unusable. So no, I wouldn't buy it again. The clip is too flimsy and bulky. The rest of the housing however is solid.Dingo
