It is better than the origional
As for quality, this seat beats the original. I say this because it has a plastic base, and will not rot as the one I had did. It had a plywood base. As for installation, it was a PITA. It came with bolts and instructions to change out the seat belt bolts because they would possibly cause a clearance conflict. Problem was the bolts were originally 7/16 SAE and they did not send nuts to match the new bolts. The new bolts provided were 1/2 inch standard thread and too short for a full engagement with standard nuts and a lock washer. I had to cut off the rear seat pan mounting studs to allow installation. Then I had to clamp the new seat into place to engage the provided new seat hold down bolts. Simply put, it was not a direct replacement. My mower is an X-Mark laser Z, 60 inch cut, 10 years old, with about 2,000 hours.
