Buy THIS don't buy THAT (Dremel) so much better
Wow... So I got on the app to find a new handheld rotary tool.... I saw this in my search results, despite it not being cordless. Having purchased it before, the date of previous purchase was June 2020.... I thought about it for a second. Since then....... I've been through 4 Dremel stylo 3 of the comparable sized corded Dremel tools as well... Along with various brands of handheld ones. You know which one is still working??? Yup this one... I had to go through my old orders and come back to write a review. I recall at the time I bought it I was really worried about it being "as good as" a high end brand. Please. As good as?? This blows them out the water. After SEVERAL Dremel brand rotary tools have made their way into the trash due to worn out motors, failed power switches, no longer staying straight as it rotates, and other issues due to wear. This tool still works beautifully. You'll get your money's worth and then some.

10 years and going strong. Great for crafts, household repairs, dogs nails, and more.
I bought one of these in 2016, and right out of the box I was very pleased. In fact, I came back and bought a second one right away, just in case, as a backup. Well it's now 10 years later, and the backup unit is still sitting brand new in its box. This suits my needs perfectly. Easy to change speed, and has handled everything I have thrown at it on either end of the spectrum. I use it for crafts, some minor home repairs, and to do my dog's nails. Prior to purchasing this unit, I had owned three rechargeable dremels, but I always ended up having battery issues, with their lifespan being much too short for my liking, and I was just tired of having to either get a new battery or a new machine. I'm so glad that I did,. I pretty much always use the attachment, and it was a game changer for me, especially when it comes to doing my dog's nails. Not only is it much easier and more comfortable to hold and maneuver, but also the sound of the motor is no longer right in there personal space, which they greatly prefer. I have a rolling stand that I hang it from, and it couldn't be easier. I just bought some attachments today to assist with my own pedicures, which is what made me say "I wonder if I ever even left a review for this machine?". I don't think you can go wrong for the price.

Good buy
It works very well, but the cutting discs are awful Thin and easy to break. Other than that, it is a great rotary tool.

Works great!
I’ve been using the WEN 2305 Rotary Tool Kit with Flex Shaft for a while now, and it’s turned into one of my go-to tools for woodworking projects. I use it for all kinds of things—detail sanding, carving, engraving, shaping small pieces, and cleaning up tight corners where bigger tools just can’t reach. The included attachments give you a good range to play with right out of the box, so you can jump straight into projects without having to buy a bunch of extras. The flex shaft is the real star for me. It makes detailed work so much easier and more controlled, especially when I’m doing fine carving or engraving on wood. Instead of holding the whole tool, you just hold the pen-style handpiece, which feels way more precise. For the price, it’s hard to beat. It’s not some heavy-duty industrial machine, but for home DIY and woodworking projects, it does a great job and has held up well. If you like doing detailed woodwork or small craft projects, this kit is a really solid addition to the toolbox.

Phenomenal Value
Bought this $20 WEN rotary tool 7 years ago thinking it was disposable. It’s been dropped, overheated, caked in metal and plastic dust, and never cleaned once. Still works exactly like day one. Not fancy, not quiet, just stupidly reliable. For the price, it’s hard to beat.

OKAY IF THE QUALITY CONTROL WERE UP TO PAR
I purchased this kit in order to work on a project when my other Dremel malfunctioned. So I got this kit hoping to work on my project and get it done to meet a deadline I had made for myself. Within a week, this WEN 2305 Rotary tool began having problems with the flex shaft. It would not hold any bits. The flex shaft seemed already stripped or simply would not tighten down. So I returned it for another replacement. The second kit had a great flex shaft but the tool itself had no reliable speed control. It would speed up or slow down by itself - and emit blue and silver sparks out the vent now and then. Hmmmm. Not good. So I called Amazon (thank goodness) and they sent me yet a third one and allowed me to pick the best of both. So I kept the good rotary tool from the third set (which also had a weak flex shaft), and I kept the flex shaft from the second kit, and sent the other kit back. Amazon allowed me to do this for all the trouble I had gone through and (bless them) Amazon also sped my replacement kits to me in just a couple days. It appears to me, the quality control of these items is very poor. Wherever they are made, they are not being checked. I would not doubt if many of these are defective and sellers just buy the whole lot of them and dump them in the marketplace where they can hopefully sell a few among the heaps of defective ones. I should not have to go through THREE kits just to find one working kit! But as usual, Amazon came to the rescue (again and again) and made sure I was satisfied. About the kit: Comes with some very small bits and some sanders. These were barely useful to me and I ended up buying my own stainless steel bits specific to my needs. The bits and sanders the kit comes with may work for really small projects like refining or working on small models or pieces of jewelry but that's about it. The motor of the device is strong and even working on a larger model that I am doing, it has more than enough power. It has a roller wheel that you can slowly adjust to increase the speed of the drill as well. Even on my project, sanding resins and refining cast forms, I only have to use a speed level of 1.5 to 2. I have never had to rev it up to the 3 setting. The flex shaft seems to be holding up so far. One thing you should be aware of is that you should not tighten down the collars on these too tight. You want to tighten them enough to keep the bits snug so they don't loosen and fly out but you don't want to tighten them so much that you strip the interior. I was very careful, having had my other Dremel for more than 20 years, and I still have it. Incidently, I ended up buying a replacement part for my Dremel so now I have both tools to work with. I would have given five stars for this item if I had received a fully functioning intact kit to begin with. I didn't expect miracles out of this less expensive device but I did expect quality control and an item that worked.

The tool itself is excellent, feels cheap like the plastic just feels kinda like it's gonna break, but it's not. It also smells cheap, if that make sense, like that pungent odor of plastic. However ignoring aesthetics, it's an excellent tool. The button can be flicked easily, and the speed setting is at a nice place as well. The only reason i wouldn't give it a 5 star is because the accessories it comes with are garbage, the cut off disks are a legitimate safety concern snapping on contact with wood, and wearing down in a matter of moments. All the sanding bit grit wears down way too fast, i was sanding some pine and i noticed it wasn't sanding well, stopped the machine and noticed all the grit had gone smooth. The grinding bits are better, but no where near good quality, also going smooth in moments. The buffing tool is the best, but that's not saying much, it's thread is wearing down from minor use and it's shedding the felt or fabric on each use. I have yet to use the drill bits as i have a good drill, but they also look flimsy. I don't care too much about the bits being trash, as the machine is capable of using dremel bits, which are superior quality and not too expensive. Plus i have plenty lying around. The extension tool is excellent as well, it doesn't seem to have any RPM drop off, and can be bent in every way. No complaints on that. The box it comes in, is a cheap plastic case, but i can't complain too much. You have to treat it like a unicorn, but i'm fine doing that as most of the time the box sits empty while i work in a shelf, or it sits with the machine while i'm not working. Don't expect it to survive a fall.

The machine is a total waste. I bought this rotary tool on the 18th of April ‘18 and was delivered to me on the 24th of April ‘18. In one day of use, in which the usage was just to test the product, the below mentioned things have happened. 1. In 10 minutes of first time use, the sanding drum mandrel bent out of shape after immense vibrations. The sanding drum ripped apart while sanding a piece of soft wood. 2. The flex shaft which i installed as per the manual overheated and the wire melted away. 3. The cutting disk broke while in use and flew towards my face. Now i have a battle scar right below my lower lip. 4. There is sparking inside the machine. WEN industries should really look into these issues.
