Heavier then expected, makes the pole saw seem more awkward to hold. Either way still giving 5 star. Trimmer is very sharp and has a lot of power. Fast trimming speed also cut right through Rose of Sharon tree. Love the length when attached, I was able to trim the entire tree without getting on a ladder this year. Worth the money and saves time.

This is the best, it cuts bushes and small tree branches like they are butter. I can go down a long row of bushes and trim them right up with speed. You wouldn’t think that a battery hedge trimmer would be this powerful but somehow DeWalt has done it again, amazing tool. I use it regularly and it’s the best. My sad old electric hedge trimmer now needs to find a new home.

Ordered this attachment to put on my pole saw- didn't want to buy a whole new tool when I already have the power head- for clearing overhanging goldenrod and berry bushes along the sides of the trails I have. After first use, I'd say it works well, plenty of power and works fairly quickly, though it does take a beat or two to get through the thicker stuff. That's no different than any hedge trimmer I've used. The one main down side I would mention is that it is very heavy after several minutes of use. The bigger battery packs kind of counter-balance the trimmer head, but it's still fatiguing. The manual that came with the trimmer stated that a shoulder strap was included, which would be helpful, but the box, and the ad on Amazon did not mention this, and one was not included. Also, comments about the pivot adjustment being loose are true, it is pretty floppy, but that doesn't really effect what I'm doing, and the pivoting head is helpful overall. Probably would have given it 3.5 stars if that was an option, but 4 is fair.

I just tried this out on my raspberry canes and I'm delighted. These canes can grow to 8 or 10 feet and be up to 5/8" in diameter. They are hard to cut with shears because they slide away as the blades come together, and they are tedious with hand clippers. Guess what? This tool does an amazing job of cutting a swath right through. My technique still needs to improve, as I have found that I can stall out in my motion as I make a pass, and I wish I could remove one more segment of my extension for more control (see my review on the tree saw), but this attachment is spot on.

The first I purchased stopped working (clicking sound) in the first 5 minutes of use. Amazon replaced immediately. The replacement ran fine (April 2025). Trimmed the hedges around my house then hung it up for four months until August - time to trim again. Stopped working same clicking sound as the first one. I don’t know if this is a known problem. I trimmed nothing larger than ¼”.
