If you never read these books in the 1900's you should because they are just as funny and far out today, other than reference to old phones, but it's just in keeping with the flow. 42.

Gift for my 14y/o who needed new reading material. Wasn’t sure what he’d think but he LOVES it so far. Grateful to have been able to get the series at such a great price.

This is the Bible for the educated man.

First off, this is a great price for a box set of HHG2G. The books are nicely designed and each one contains a few facsimilies of material from the Douglas Adams archives. They are British made, and even the city where they were printed ties into the story. (No spoilers, just read the first book, then look at the city where the books were made.) One thing to know: these are the British originals, so even if you have the US versions, they are worth having. One book especially, Life the Universe and Everything, was cleaned up for US readers. One small chapter was removed, and some more spicy language was tamed, and a passage was added to justify the language replacement. So, if you're a hardcore fan, it's worth it just to have the original version, if you have the US edition. If you don't already have it, buy it and you'll see why it's loved by so many people. It's an excellent deal and a great way to get the series.

The “BoxSet” arrived as a shrink wrapped set without a box. Other than that it is fine

Just received the series, great bedtime story. Very silly, engaging. I look forward to reading them all.

There’s a thing about owning Hitchhikers…if you know someone who’s having a hard time with life, then give them this as a gift. I gave my previous copies away a few years ago to a young lady who was going through major depression and self harm. Did it cure her? I don’t know. She’s better, enjoyed it and never gave it back. So, I saw the world going to pieces again and realized I needed it now, so I bought another copy (this nice little set) and started rereading it. I feel better already, even though I’m only on book two. Give yourself something funny and delightful. You’ll be sorry….wait! Get away Marvin! You WON’T be sorry.

While the books themselves are fine, this is not a boxset it's a set.
