Good book to learn about Covid-19.
In this book we meet Alina, Tristan, Crispin, and Gina. They are all part of our DNA.In her diary Alina explains about the DNA and COVID-19 for kids to understated better about the corona virus and the biology behind it.This is a good book for middle school kids. The illustration is great; it is helping to understated better.I recommend this book for ages 9-13.

The Science of COVID-19 for Kids
This is a surprisingly long and detailed look at how COVID-19 gets into our body and wreaks havoc. The book starts by looking at what healthy DNA and receptors do in the body. Then the virus shows up, and the body goes to work on trying to contain the invader, but it can do considerable damage before the immune system can fully kick in. At the end of the book, the author discusses ways of germ transmission and ways to avoid it as well as hope for a vaccine. I thought the book at times went between describing the science too much or not enough. While I don't have a degree in science, I took a lot of science courses in nursing school and on my own online. This book only addresses the respiratory effects of COVID, not the other ones. Perhaps they would have all been too much to add to a book like this. I also thought some key players in the immune system were either not portrayed accurately (neutrophils aren’t “watery”; they give off something close to bleach to kill bacteria or viruses, not water, which can damage lung cells; plasma proteins drawn to sites of inflammation tend to draw more fluid to an inflamed area) or were left out entirely (like killer T cells). It's not just neutrophils and antibodies! The book does have colorful, imaginative illustrations that help show certain points and certainly make the book more visually interesting. I'm not quite sure what age range this is for. I do wonder if some explanations are too complex. The author goes into a fair amount of detail about things like cell biology, DNA (of course) and RNA, and the immune system, but gaps are left that may or may not confuse children. All in all, though, this could be a good way to actually explain the science of health, infection, and what they can do about it to younger children.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

Excellent book for explaining COVID-19 to little, inquisitive minds
This book lays out everything about the COVID-19 virus in such a way that young children, and even adults with no scientific background, can understand. It was so clearly written but also brilliantly captures the readers attention so they want to keep reading! This nasty virus has kids asking so many questions, including my son, and I can't wait to share this book with him on Christmas. He wants to be a doctor when he grows up, and this will certainly help him feel like he's moving in the right direction. I really enjoyed this little lesson on COVID-19 and if your kids are into the human body or anything like that, they will love it too!

Cute and Informative
This book was cute and informative. My son is a budding scientist and throughly loved flipping through this book. This story would make an engaging educational animated show.

Great Science Book!
This is such a great book to help children from 8 and up understand how their bodies fight germs and bacteria. I thought that it's interesting to keep young readers interested. I love the glossary at the end for further knowledge. This would make a great addition to a science classroom.

Covid-19 explained in an easy-to-understand language
I read a lot about Covid-19 in the last few months, but I never really understood the science behind it.This book is great, because it explains how our DNA works and how Covid-19 affects our breathing and lungs. It's explained in an easy way, almost like a story, and with some lovely illustrations. These really help you picture what is going on inside the human body. The underlying sense of humour adds another layer of 'fun' to the learning experience.I got this book for my 10 year old daughter. We loved reading it together and learning about what goes on inside our cells and the important role of DNA.Children have been affected by Covid-19 in many ways, it can be hard for them to understand what is going on in the world, and how a small thing like a virus can cause so much trouble. So this book really helped to have a clearer picture, and possibly reduce some of the anxiety around the topic.

Superb book 9 to 13 years old
There are a lot of books now on Covid. But this one is absolutely the best one. It will help kids understand while having fun. We have read all the books of the series and love them all. I read on the book that Lisa ( book’s author) spent years working with DNA so this makes this book perfect for a science class.Highly recommended
