A Terrific Doorbell Monitor with No Subscription Fees
I had a Ring doorbell, but I was tired of them raising the subscription price every year. To me, they are ripping off their customers This unit has a much better video and audio than the Ring. Seriously better. Motion detection is much better also. No false notifications like the Ring had. Easy to install. No wires needed. Battery life TBD, but still shows a full charge after a few weeks of use. Easy to charge when it is needed. Just pops out to plug into a USB B mini-cord. App is easy to download. Works great. Connects with Alexa so it will announce what you want through Alexa, or Google or Apple. Has a second unit which is plugged into an outlet in the house. The memory card in the indoor unit records all events, thus no need for a subscription. This keeps the events system secure, since it is inside the house. Unit is also the chime. So you can have events announced just through the chime, or the app or Alexa (Google Home or Siri) or any combination. Works much better than Ring and no subscription fees. One of my best purchases of the past few years. Update on battery life. The manufacturer suggests the battery will last up to six months before it needs to be charged again. My experience is 2 recharges required in a year. So they're telling the truth. And it's easy to charge. Also - the app shows the charge level, so no surprises.

Extremely pleased
I'm so pleased with this! 1st time ever purchasing a security system in my 50 years but my neighbors in building absolutely lead me to purchase this. I'm single female and did not want anything that required major installation and this was perfect for me! No wiring, no nails or screws! I paired this with the dorebellboa and it is excellent! I'm considering buying another for my back door but I might just move. (it's that bad). I love that I can leave my place and still monitor my front hall if I want to right from my phone. I don't even have to get out of bed if I hear a loud noise in front entrance of building to my doorway. There was no peep hole so I purchased this cause I was hearing so much noise in front hall in all strange hours of the night. I would highly recommend this and the dorebellboa to anyone renting or doesn't want to get hung up on door installations. I LOVE THIS SYSTEM! But, it's my 1st security system purchase too. I do want to give a shout out to LifeHackster Youtube channel. I referred to his channel for the set up and he is excellent! It just made my life so much easier! I also bought the Wyze 3 cam and love that too. I actually just purchased an additional 2 cams just now. I utilize my eufy along with the wyze and this has been great. I really am enjoying both systems. My neighbors....they aren't enjoying it as much. The audio can pick up all kinds of comments. The system also allows me to save and download specific footage to my phone. It's a great system and reliable in the sense if you will need to provide proof of harassment or awful activity going on that you wouldn't be able to prove it not recorded. My only complaint is that I have 5G wifi and both systems aren't compatible so you'll just have to bump your wifi down to the 2.4 version. I was a little surprised cause I could've sworn they were both advertised as workable with 5G but they aren't. This was only frustration. I thought I'd run into issue cause my private router was set to 5g so i just bumped it down in the settings and there isn't a problem. Keep in mind, if you notice one night your system doesn't record events then you might need to shutdown and reboot router and reset the security system too. That is what I did and it works no problem after that. I do run system all the time so I'm due to charge soon. I installed the system on 1/21/2021 and it's now 2/6/2022 and it runs 24/7. I don't think that is bad the fact that it needs a charge now!

Pretty good
Works pretty good. Like that there is no subscription fee. Only bad things are it records the sunrise because it thinks its movement like 10 times every day and that runs the battery down. And now a few years later the battery only lasts about a week.

Beats the original ring doorbell in nearly every way.
I purchased this doorbell as a replacement for my original "OG" Ring doorbell that I'd had since 2017. Over the last year or so the ring had gotten progressively worse battery life to the point that it would only go about 2 weeks on a charge, this coupled with a difficulty staying connected to the wifi as well the indoor chime not working lead me to look elsewhere for battery powered options and ultimately to this device. Having had this unit installed for a few weeks now I can say without question this is a significantly better device in nearly every way possible I can think of. After two weeks the unit is reporting 91% battery remaining, this even with my random live streaming of the camera just to check on things. Here's a list of some of my pros and cons I can think of thus far. Pros: 1. Battery life appears to be excellent. Where the ring at best was lucky to get a month of battery even when newer, this unit is likely to get several months minimum. 2. Lighted doorbell button, when the eufy detects motion the doorbell button lights up, informing the visitor that there's a doorbell and also a camera there (good for security.) The ring did not have this feature when on battery (it's always lit when plugged in.) 3. The "sim card" like release. This is infinitely better than the security screws on the ring, both screws stripped on me and had to be replaced, this push pin method is fast and easy. 4. Video quality much improved from OG Ring. 5. Time from doorbell ring to notification is nearly instantaneous, with ring it was several seconds in most cases if lucky. 6. Motion detection is great, I am often notified of the motion before the visitor has reached the doorstep. 7. No monthly/yearly fee: with the ring you had to pay $30/year to view historical videos, if you happened to not check a camera while the event was happening you were out of luck, with this unit and a $10 memory card the history is always there to see for no fee. 8. Inside chime is included - with the ring you had to purchase separately or buy a bundle, either way the cost was higher than this bundle on Amazon. Cons: 1. No hardwire option - this isn't an issue for me since my home didn't have a hard wired doorbell, but for those with a hardwire existing this would be great to never charge it. I believe eufy makes another model with this option. 2. Doorbell chime lacking in options for sounds - this is a bit nitpicky but the chime sounds are boring at best, the ring definitely had some fun sounds for the holidays, this is not a functional issue and one that could be easily rectified if they wanted to. Overall I am extremely pleased with this device and would recommend it to friends over the ring doorbell from here on out. I was previously a ring apologist and convinced several friends to buy one, but for me in my home this is a better device in nearly every way possible. I think if you have a hardwire that works then you may think twice about the battery option only but otherwise this is fantastic for the price and performance.

I REALLY want to like it ... but
UPDATE 2: I now have to unplug and reconnect the chime daily to keep the doorbell working. Connectivity is horrible and the unit is offline almost constantly now. This product does not seem well designed from this aspect. UPDATE 1: As of 11/16/20, the video magically started working in Alexa. I don't know if the Alexa skill has been improved, but I was able to view live video a couple of times. However, this seems to come at a cost as connectivity has become even more of an issue. The chime is plugged into the same outlet as the router, and the doorbell is within 10' of it, yet it will not stay consistently connected. This effectively makes the live stream irrelevant if I can't connect to the doorbell. Bottom Line Up Front: I hate to start with the negative, but there are some fatal flaws in this design that make it almost useless for me. The first one I received was "Dead On Arrival", but Amazon shipped out a new one immediately and I had it 2 days later. As for doorbell specifics, see below: 1. There is no way to send the videos and recordings to a network storage center or download them all at one time. 2. You cannot view the camera live feed from within Alexa/Google Home. **This started working 11/16/20** 3. You have to remove the doorbell to charge it, and that takes about 6 hours, so no doorbell while charging. 4. The chime ONLY works with the doorbell, and not the floodlight cameras. Here is more more in depth information on what I see is wrong with this device: For starters, the fact that I cannot easily get all my videos at one time for off-line review without removing the Micro-SD card from the chime is a total failure. The chime is connected to my network, I should be able to download all the videos to either my PC or my Phone without removing the storage card. Continually inserting and removing the card causes excessive wear on both the card and the chime and could be easily avoided with a simple download option. Follow that with the fact that I cannot view the live stream in Alexa like you can with other Eufy security cameras (except the floodlight cam, which I will review separately) is a very poor decision and needs to be addressed. If I am in the kitchen, with my Echo Show, and my phone is upstairs when someone comes to the door, I can't just pull up the video feed on my Alexa device to see who is there. That leaves me 3 options, stop what I am doing to answer the door, stop what I am doing to go get my phone, or ignore it. None of these are an ideal solution if I am in the middle of something else. at least with live feed compatibility I could see and interact with my visitor without stopping what I am doing. My Ring doorbell was perfect for this, but the subscription was too costly to keep it. Next up, why the charging port is on the back of the camera in a location that REQUIRES removal to charge is beyond me. If you are not going to use easily replaceable/rechargeable batteries, then the charging port should be accessible without removing the entire doorbell. Perhaps putting it on the side or bottom of the device? That would allow the possible option of connecting to a solar panel, or a backup power-bank, or even running a cable to an outlet to charge it without losing your doorbell for 6 hours. A simple solution could be to provide a mounting plate that allows you to move the charging port so that you don't have to remove the doorbell for 6 hours. Finally, the chime is nice, and acts as a "mini homebase" but it ONLY works SPECIFICALLY with the doorbell it came with and will NOT allow me to integrate it with my Eufy floodlight cameras or any other Eufy cameras. I tried to setup my replacement doorbell with the first chime and it would NOT accept the doorbell as it is somehow tied to the one it is shipped with. I don't understand why, this makes no logical sense to me. If you have stayed with me this long, then here are the good points of this doorbell cam: The video quality is great, even at "only" 1080P like quality. I would say that it appears to rival my old Ring camera which was exceptional. The framerate it records at is lower though, so the videos can be a little choppy, but still very good. Responsiveness is fantastic. Notifications arrive quickly and the app loads up fast when trying to view visitors. This is MUCH faster than my old Ring video doorbell. Audio quality is also very good. One drawback here is that it only records one side of the conversation, but that is outweighed by the fact that it is a clear audio stream and not muffled and distorted like my Ring was. Connectivity is okay. I am calling this a positive because it doesn't disconnect as much as my Ring did, but it does still suffer from some connectivity issues. I suspect that this is because of the low power wifi signal used to connect to the chime. I know this is a battery conservation mechanism, but I wish there was an option in the configuration to use a higher powered signal to help keep it connected better. The chime is included. Despite my issues with the chime, the fact that it comes with the doorbell is a big bonus. I had to purchase the Ring chime separately for my old doorbell. I do wish it had more ringtone options, for example, my wife REALLY liked the "Westminster" chime of the Ring, but there is nothing close on the Eufy, and no option to "upload" chimes. Will I keep this doorbell? With no fees for recording, then I have to say yes, until I find something better. The reality is that a lot of the problems with this device simply boil down to poor design decisions that could be easily rectified if Eufy chooses to do so. However, until there are solutions to the problems, I will use it while I keep looking for a better option, then it will go in the trash. I will update this review if Eufy addresses any of the issues I see with this kit.

I wish Amazon had prompted me that I needed to buy an SD memory card for each unit
Just unpacked and started charging the doorbells, and I discovered that I need an SD card for each unit to store videos. Nothing on the page made it clear that a card was needed. Grrr. Update after a few months. These are great doorbells. I would not buy a doorbell with a monthly fee for cloud storage. That's just nuts, because I have plenty of storage in house. The secret to having the battery last longer is to choose Balance under Power settings. I had 2 so I set one to Optimal (the default) and one to Balanced. The one set to Optimal needed recharging after 2.5 months but the one set to Balanced still doesn't need charging and looks like it will last 4 months. I've only had to remove a doorbell once, but it's not that easy. I'm sure I'll get better at it after doing it a few more times, but still. They give you a paper clip like tool to insert in a tiny hole in the bottom. The tool pushes on a small release button inside the unit and you pull the doorbell away from the base at the bottom. I ended up having to get a chair to sit in to get low enough to perform the task. Perhaps you should mount these doorbells higher to make removing them easier. The quality of the videos is great and we've gotten zero false detections from animals or wind blown branches. I had to reformat the SD cards because when I was deleting old videos, they would not delete. It was a bit tricky finding the reformat option in the app, but it worked and the problem has not returned. I do wish I could pause motion detection for less than 30 minutes because I would like to disable it when I'm leaving and not have to re-enable it when I've left the driveway. Same applies for arriving home. Update 6/8/23: At the end of the day, I select "all" videos and choose delete. The screen says there are no events for the day, but I discovered that it's lying. You have to either refresh the screen (drag down from top and release on Android), or leave that screen and return to it, and then more videos will appear. You have to repeat this process until there really are no more videos. I wish Eufy would either auto-refresh the screen to show the additional videos, or (preferably) give me an option to actually select ALL of the videos for that day (to save time). Bonus tip: bend the doorbell release tool to close to 90 degrees so it's easier to both hold and to release the unit from the mount. The doorbell is right up against the door frame and bending the tool allows you to better hold the tool without your fingers hitting the wall. I drop things frequently and was afraid I would lose the tool between the house and the steps (mine are not attached to the house).

Easy to Set-up
This is the second Eufy doorbell camera we have purchased. The first one battery life ended after approximately 2.5 years cycle (which is not bad considering the low price). I was fairly happy with the first one, so decided to go with Eufy on our second purchase. Well, I was not disappointed. The video and audio quality of our second 1080p Eufy surpasses our first doorbell camera. Night mode quality video is excellent. And to put icing on the cake, the second camera was even cheaper than the first one we purchased. So we got an even better doorbell camera for an even lower price with our second purchase. The setup was fairly easy once I figured out that I had to create a new account because I was getting confused due to the old account still active. At first I was trying to add a device to an old account until I realized that the reason I was having issues was because I needed to create a new account. After that, it was smooth sailing and the chime detected the new camera and came online within a minute. The software has been updated for our new camera and there are several options that allow you to modify or enhance the settings to your preferences. For instance, the time you receive a notification on your phone that someone is at your door can be adjusted. Or the human recognition can also be set to your preferences, and the facial recognition software is AI and can learn to work with your particular situation. I recommend this product because it is very good quality at a low price. We purchased the wireless doorbell camera in case I failed to mention that. That's my honest opinion. Mike V., Albuquerque, NM

Worked great... for a week (common issue?)
I installed this to keep an eye on packages and a neighbor that has been messing with us and our parking spots at a condo. PRO: It works pretty good. It might start recording a little late but it captured the video we needed (most of the time - sometimes the motion sensor didn't pick up the motion at all). It is great that it stores video on an SD card (up to 128GB) that is located in the ringer that goes inside the house. CON: The video is stored encrypted, which is a pro, except that it requires the doorbell to view the data. The ringer cannot show you the video. You would think the device that stores the video would allow you to view the video with the phone app. Not so. Putting the SD card in a laptop also doesn't work. The card is formatted in a non-Window's format - but even if you could read the card, the video is encrypted and the base unit cannot decrypt. CON: The unit died after a week of use. Won't even charge. My guess is that on Halloween it kept getting triggered and recorded over 70 videos (I saw this while I was out with my kids getting candy). Overnight it must have got down to 0% on the battery. That killed it. I won't recharge now. I googled this to see how to fix it and it turns out that there are several reports of the devices just dying after a short period of time - totally dead and cannot recharge. Won't even light when you plug it in to charge. In my case, it sat in a box for over a year and I didn't install it until we moved. A week later it was dead and out of warranty. To be fair, their support was great and they offered to give me a 15% discount to get a new one, but all my video's are gone and over $100 for a week of use doesn't seem worth it. Their app should be able to show you and let you download the videos even if the doorbell unit dies since the data is stored on the ringer base unit. The app is not the greatest also - little things like not being able to swipe to the next video when in full screen mode is annoying. Over all, I really liked it and could overlook the app and video storage issues --- at least I could until it died a week later.

Great value when you consider no subscription
We purchased this doorbell specifically because it didn’t need to be wired to previous doorbell and because there were no subscription fees. It took a little while to get it working properly to record but that was due to a faulty SD card and to no fault of the camera itself. I love that you can see the events and that you don’t have to pay a monthly fee to do so. Picture quality is great and the app is quite user friendly. The only thing that could improve on our end is the motion detection being quicker. We have ours aimed down our stairs and the motion detection set to high but if a delivery driver is super quick to drop off a package, the camera misses the event. This may be solve-able if we were to move the camera to another location but we have it covering the hole in our house from our old doorbell so we prefer not to move it. Otherwise, it’s a great camera. Battery life doesn’t last quite as long as we had hoped but it’s chargeable and super easy to do so has caused us no issues.

No subscription plan required
For the first time , I struggle to install it. Did it last. Charged it fully. Just last for max 10 days. Again, I reset every things like optimal battery life, motion detection to the lowest, managed detection zone as required. It is lasting almost 35-40 days with 100% charged battery.
