Catholic League recommended.
Catholic League’s President Bill Donahue recommended this Greatest Fraud book last month, and I am glad I bought three copies. I plan to give one to my parish Youth Leader. I may buy several more to give away to others. The book (some 150 pages) provides helpful explanations, with sources footnoted, of several key cases of lies, deceptions and uncorrected errors in the Media, in the 2018 Pennsylvania Grand Jury Report (“GJR”), and in other forums that falsely accuse Catholic priests and bishops of sexual child abuse and cover-ups.I am both a survivor of sexual child abuse (not by a priest) and a retired CPA with training and experience in fraud detection and prevention, who has spent hundreds of hours since 2006 voluntarily researching and testifying on the general subject matters addressed in this book. However, the book had some helpful analysis and information that was news to me.What galls me is the many times the legal system was not seeking justice nor fairness, such as when the prosecution violated the law (the book’s Gallagher case), which sent an innocent, falsely accused Catholic school teacher to jail for four years before the guilty verdict was thrown out, but the legal system would not let the teacher out of jail, with no criminal record. No, the prosecution urged the innocent teacher to plead guilty to a lesser charge (to justify the unjustifiable four years in jail) and in return, the prosecution would free the teacher and not re-try the case for which there was no longer evidence of sexual abuse by the teacher. In a 2008 case, a legislative “Window” bill contained three lies in a feeble attempt to get around the State Constitution provision that prohibited such Window bills. Forty of the public testified in favor of the bill, but my ten–page analysis exposed the three lies and other flaws in the bill and explained how Window bills promote sexual child abuse, whereby the House Judiciary committee “killed the bill” at its next meeting. That state has never had a Window bill proposed since then.

Devastating and Thought Provoking
As a Gen X Catholic, I was raised in the era of the priest abuse scandals. It seemed like it was everywhere. I will not dismiss the pain and anguish of victims of priest abuse. But in all such types of abuse (whether perpetrated by a priest, a coach, or teacher) the real incidents are small. If the abuse was wide spread, it would be visible to the general community; unable to hide or keep hidden. Hence, we as the reader of newspapers, viewers of media, and potential jurors must be skeptics. We must ask why a person is bringing a claim 20, 30, 40 yrs old? Is the alleged priest still alive or dead? Is there any way to verify the truth of the claim? Is the claim reasonable on its face or is it so outlandish that it defies reason? Has the alleged victim made claims against others? Is there a history of drug abuse? Criminal conduct?Basically, we want to ensure that both the alleged victim are respected and the rights of the alleged defendant are upheld. First and foremost, the defendant must be given all due process afforded under the federal and state constitutions especially when the alleged crime occurred years/decades prior and little to no evidence exists proving the crime. We would all want to be afforded this basic level of due process. This book makes painfully clear that the quest for truth and justice was lost in the primary effort to hurt the Church as an institution, use it as an ATM, or more insidiously, hurt innocent priests—imprisoning them, destroying their professional and personal reputations, or harassing them into death and postmortem.

Get off the Bandwagon
If you think for yourself, this book is for you. Beware of settled opinion as it is often incorrect. Get off the bandwagon. Here, Pierre makes a convincing that the majority of recent claims of sex abuse against Catholic priests are bogus. The left wing media, which hates the church, has long been allied with contingency lawyers and attention hungry politicians to push the story that any accusation against a Catholic priest is true, no matter how absurd or implausible the accusation or from how long ago. And naturally there are scores of mental cases and fraudsters out there who like the idea of making an anonymous accusation against an often dead priest for which they cant lose but can only win big bucks. Pierre uncovers this ongoing scam by the media, plaintiffs bar and attention starved politicians with meticulous details and footnotes. Beware of conventional thinking.

Detailed information about accusations of Priest sexual abuse.
This book presents referenced information about the inaccurate accusations of sexual abuse by Roman Catholic Priests. It is an important read because it presents information exonerating Roman Catholic Priests from salacious accusations. The public can benefit from reading this book because most citizens do not have the time or skills to search out the truth. It is essential that US citizens have both sides of the story when attacks against Roman Catholic Priests and the Church. I highly recommend this book so that US citizens can have access to the truth involving this most important right of Religious Freedom free of specious assault.

Go Beyond the Headlines
Excellent work. David Pierre looks past the grandstanding DAs, biased reporters, and credulous juries to get to the facts. What began as a necessary cleansing has long since passed on to a campaign of hate directed against the Church. Time for Catholics to stand up for themselves and their priests.

Great analysis of this disgusting phenomenon
Very clearly written, displays the less known side of the story. The reality is that christianity is under attack on every front with false accusations, no defence appreciated or accepted.

The truth at last!
A study that points to the lies and deception perpetrated by the media, so-called victims groups, and trial lawyers against falsely accused priests!
