The pieces of this frame all snap together using magnets. They are just the right strength to hold it together without making it too hard to open up. The magnets also work to attach the frame to a metal surface. We bought two with the red trim and they are attached to our refrigerator. The red border is vibrant and is a nice offset to the $2 bills we are using these frames to display. They could also probably be freestanding on a shelf, but might fall over if one of our kids or dogs came thundering through the same room. Not sure; haven't tried that yet. They should probably be set against something in a high traffic area. Otherwise, they do stand up on their own without an issue. Overall, we love they - great choice, great price, and the colored border really makes them stand out.

I had my reservations about this frame, I was wrong. This frame is a pretty cool magnetic device., and looks great holding a 1962 Bolivian banknote I found in a book. I know Butch & Sundance arent getting it back. I only have one small, tiny teeny gripe. I think the magnets could be a tad bit stronger, but thats just my isuue. Enjoy a nice frame.

I had an old $2 bill that my father gave me and I needed something that would be able to display and protect it. This frame does that without any issues. Installation was a breeze. You just pull it apart and place your desired bill in it and put it back together. The two pieces are held together by six little magnets which do a great job of securing the bill in the frame. The only downside to this frame is that it doesn't stand up by itself very easily. It will but the chance of falling over is high. Initially, I just leaned it up against the back of my display shelf but I was still concerned it would fall over. To solve this problem I purchased a picture frame easel from Walmart for a few dollars. It worked GREAT and I love the display! See picture. If you have a special bill you would like to display, you can't beat this display frame for the price! Definitely recommend it.

Needed a frame for a fan made artist dollar bill and it works awesome for what I need it to. It;s cool that its hield together with magnets, but easily falls apart if it falls and hit the ground

We have a $100 bill that is rotated around friends on silky / stupid bets. So much more fun when presented in this case. Does the job!
